both fighters are sure Hall of Famers. No one can match their skills and power as they clean out their division with emphatic wins in their prime. Holy manage to have a great HW career while jones is the p4p king in the 90s.

Do you think the p4p king of the 90's would beat the best cruiser of all-time?
Suppose the fight would took place at 190 lbs prime vs prime...

nope, theres nothing that Roy had in his arsenal that could of stopped Holy, aint have the power, and his handspeed and agility alone wouldn't of bailed him out of this

i'd be suprised if Roy made it past the 8th round

Evander would do somethin to Roy that Roy always avoided and thats a trench war/brawl...Roy wouldnt be able to KO Evander but stranger things have happened.I see Evander attacking constantly and eventually catching Roy in the 2nd half of the fight

Evander was a savage beast at that weight and would have walked though Roy to club him to defeat in the second half of the fight.

Evander would also be using his head..that would have been the first fight Roy would have ever been cut in

wow, jones must have been lucky since there was no decent cruiser champ in his time. that's why he have to settle for lesser contenders in the late 90s

i do not think holy would KTFO jones, jones is so skilled and would run in that fight. im sure he would last but he would go down in the latter rounds

Holyfield by TKO in the later rounds. Holyfield was too strong, crafty, durable and simply tough. Roy would look good early on, but just wouldn't have the firepower to really hurt Holyfield. Holyfield would relentlessly stalk Roy and catch him enough (and rough him up) to slow him down and take the spring out of his step.

Eventually, after some solid body work, Holy would stop Roy. I can see Holyfield landing enough unanswered shots later in the fight for the ref to stop it.

Score would be reasonably close at the time, with Holy getting a small lead into the last couple of rounds. (maybe the scorecards would be even)

Jones never fought at cruiserweight. 190 was Holyfield's best weight so I feel that a Jones victory would highly unlikely.

I am curious as to what you are basing this being Holyfields best weight? His best match was a life and death SD over Qawi (a short LH), personally I feel Evander did his best work as a heavy.
I would make Evander a favourite in this match up, however the assets he has against other guys "his size", i.e. speed, movement and workrate are not as evident against Roy. Roy is used to guys with more hand and footspeed and a higher puch output than Holy. He is one of a very few to actually look good against Ruiz. Holy will be against a fighter who is extremely unorthodox and willhit him from angles unlike anything hes experienced before. Roy carried 193lbs? comfortably against Ruiz so we know the weight wont be a factor for him.

that's the reason why i think this match would be even. i guess a lot under estimate the power of roy jones. he would hurt holyfield with straight punches to the face. he can the rounds by hit and run. he has the speed and holyfield won't catch him. he is shifty and knows how to defend his body for holyfield's punches
