Calzaghe’s retirement opened up a spot in THE RING’s pound-for-pound ratings. The Welshman was rated No. 3, meaning Nos. 4-10 all move up a notch. That allows Vic Darchinyan to enter the pound-for-pound ratings at No. 10.

I have soooo many issues with that top 10...But 9 and 10 are total jokes

 

I cant take that list seriously Caballero at 9 is beyond ridiculous, everything else is ok though

 

Caballero shouldnt be in there, Hatton shouldnt be in there and Vic could stand to move up a place or two.

 

why the **** is caballero even a consideration? that's foolish i don't even have him top 25. i can accept the rest of the list with the exception of hatton who might be top 15 but def not top 10.

 

cotto deserved to be there...what's wrong with them...if cotto wins, the vic would be bump out..2 weeks in the rankings ain't bad...would that be the shortest one?

then a week later, vic re enters again when they drop izzy and rafa for inactivity...

 

I can understand why Calderon is in the top 10, but not Caballero.
In my opinion, he needs to show more before he gets listed.

 

Celestino Caballero is on the list because he's a latino. If you are a latino with a belt, you most likely will be on Ring magazines pound for pound list. Its a joke.

Where Chad Dawson. Where's Paul Williams? Kessler? Klitschko? You know, guys in divisions people actually care about?

 

I think I'd have Williams and Cotto at 9 and 10.

Yeh i have cotto and williams in my top 10 still.

 

Rafael Marquez lost twice to Vasquez, Cotto lost once to Margarito(controversy).......Why would cotto be out and Raf is ranked high...Im not saying Raf shloud be out, but Cotto should be in there around #6 or #7....Caballero and Hatton shouldn't be there..

Alot of you may not agree with this but Im damn sure this is better than the Ring's P4P list!!!

But for Chrissakes, WTF is Caballero doing there? The problem is: let's say Williams beats Winky or somehow The Ring will count either the Cotto or the Pavlik mismatch worth of a P4P ranking. Then Darchinyan falls out but Caballero stays? Lol. 7th should be Vic's place. 2-division champion, undisputed, WBC, WBA, IBF SFlyW champion, he beat (punished, destroyed) 3 champs in a row including a P4P-er and a future HOF. That's more than Caballero, Calderon, Margarito, Mosley or Williams did lately. Mosley's 5th place is a joke. Why does he take over Margarito's place and Vic doesn't (Mijares was 7th, without Joe that is 6th).

Oh well, P4P is a stupid thing anyway, but if they try to make a list, at least it should make sense. Based on the argument they put Margarito and Mosley up there, Darchinyan should be ranked very high as well.

 

Cabellero is very good and beat a fellow champ and undefeated fighter in his hometown in impressive fashion.

However he should be just outside the top 10. He certainly shouldn't be rated above Vic. Personally I'd have Vic at 9 and Mijares at 10. Mijares may have lost in his last fight but his form leading up to that was sensational. Hopkins stayed in with losses, because people knew how good he was.

Mijares is still that good, I think if he beats Hasegawa at BW then he should return to his original high position.

Seriously, people act as if Mijares' wins over Navarro, Arce and Munoz were flukes and he has been 'exposed' as china chinned???? He just got over confident and came in with the wrong gameplan.

And happened to do it against one of the consensous hardest hitters P4P today.
