He knows its not worth the rish for the money invovled..

He wants to fight Calzaghe becuase he knows Joe cant hurt him so he at least has a small small chance.

    Kessler would murder Froch

He's definately going to have to fight Kessler. What other big fights are out there for him? Anyway, even if it doesn't do any money over in the states you know it's going to be big £s over here in Europe.

i think calzaghe should of said to him"beat kessler and i will fight you"
it would of been huge then and brought in alot of money.
if he could manage kessler that is ..which i seriously doubt, which is a shame as we could do with a good replacement for calzaghe.

I reckon if Froch beats Taylor a fight with Kessler will still be huge. At least in Europe. Kessler's still pretty well known over here following his epic battle with Calzaghe, and they could sell it to the Danes and other continentals as a kind of revenge fight for Kessler. I admit it'd be a pretty hard sell to America though.
    Europe runs SMW.

If Froch knocks out Taylor, he may well get the fight with Calzaghe. Yeah, if.......

People seem to forget that calzaghe hurt Kessler with a body shot. I would favour Kessler, but I'm sure that Froch believes he could stop the Dane.

'By 35, 36, regardless of who's out there and what big fights are out there for me, if I don't feel I can put 100% into my training, and I don't feel my hands are good enough or my elbows are good enough or my kness holding up, I mean I've had 3 major operations, 2 on my hand one on my knee, if I don't feel I'm 100% prepared for a fight, I won't take a fight, 'cos I won't take that risk.'

Nice, sensible stuff from Carl. This logic makes it pretty difficult for him to criticize Calzaghe for doing pretty much exactly what he is describing though, doesn't it?

"I'll fight anybody, and if I'm not good enough, I'll retire. It's as simple as that."

    Is that a promise, Carl?

You're taking that a bit out of context... he was talking about retiring when he doesn't feel he is physically capable anymore, saying he wouldn't take a fight just for the money... which is what he feels Calzaghe did in his last fight (if not his last two fights).

It seems like he understands why Calzaghe is retiring, but doesn't understand why he keeps slagging Carl or the sport in general if he's not got any interest in fighting anymore. Carl's basically saying, "Stay and fight, or get out and shut up."
