So because fans think Vitali could beat Wlad (even though they will never fight) that it makes Vitali "the real champ"?

that makes no sense to me at all. You need to look at what they have accomplished. Wlad is #1 and I would say based on resume, :deal 90% of fans would agree to that :good

No, 90% don't think that Vitali beats Wlad. Some people do feel that way... but some people also feel that Haye beats Wlad too. Does that make Haye the real King of the division? Also... Vitali has only had one fight over the last 5 years, and it was against someone who Wlad has already beat. Not exacly the stuff that would make Vitali the real Heavyweight King. Vitali was a top notch boxer, but his prime was cut short due to his injuries. Now, he is still very good.... however too old, and too injury riddled to really stay around and rule the division.

Vitali is what he is. He is a boxer who matches up great h2h in theory with just about everyone. However, he was never able to accomplish enough inside the ring to be considered anywhere near the top of the ATG list himself.

BTW... Wlad beats Vitali.:yep However, they would never fight... and they never should. Wlad doesn't have to beat ANYONE to be the the real Champ. Wlad already is the true Champ in the division. It is up to the rest of the division to try and beat Wlad in order to take that crown from him.

 

This is very true Wlad is without a doubt the most dominant HW of our era so I'll take back the "real HW king part" cuzz Vitali's chosen not to earn it...but c'mon now had these 2 of ever fought u and I both know who'd of won

 

Wlad wins. I like both guys.. i know both guys and from what I have seen, at this time (IMO) Wlad would get the best of Vitali. I think Wlad is to fast and to strong for Vitali. 4-5 years ago before vitali retired...not sure

I dont think anyone is number one before 3/4 titles are unified.

 

Which shows what is wrong with this sport. Why on earth would Wlad have to win the worthless WBA title in order to be considered the Champ? Those corrupt organizations don't decide who is the best. The fans decide who is the real Champ is. Wlad could only hold the IBO title and the IBO title would mean the most in the division. The Champ makes the belt, the belt doesn't make the Champ. Chagaev or Valuev... which one is even considered the WBA Champ this week:huh (both?).... aren't doing anything even remotely close to what Wlad is doing right now.

The true boxing fans need to completely step out of this way of thinking that allows the crooked organizations to hold our sport back. They don't want Champs to unify, because then they don't get to sanction all of their Championship fights and make all of the money. Like the WBC sanctioning a new WBC eliminator every other day. They keep multiple mandatory challengers on back order at all times. It's a joke.
