I thought it was pretty obvious froch hits harder as hes a supermiddle but apparently o_money think pavlik does froch supermiddleweight 80% ko ratio http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=97570&cat=boxer pavlik middleweight 85% ko ratio http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=15844&cat=boxer
We can only compare them as both being SMWs as Froch has never fought at MW.At SMW Pavlik losses much and most of his assets including much of his power.Definetely Froch punches harder IMO.
Absurd attempt at a proof. Give me the right competition and I can string up some KO's myself. Pavlik has a long resume of being the first to stop some one. Some impressive names on that list too.
I think their power is roughly the same, but Kelly comes off as the bigger puncher because he tends to put more into his punches then Froch more often. Pavlik might throw 10 power punches and put 100% power on 5 of them, and Froch might only put 100% power on 3 out of 10.
I dont think you could really prove one hits harder then the other unless you have them punch the cushion.
I say put the OP in the middle and have each pull the trigger on the opposite sides of his chin and see which way it moves. Of course it could just collapse inward. :think Effectiveness is the true measure here. Pavlik has been the first to put out quite a few decent names. Shavers punched harder than Ali. What did that get him?
They've fought at completely different levels, but if youre going to use the KO % as an indicator I'd go with Pavlik, higher percentage at world class than Froch at whatever class you can call his opponents, ableit at a weight class lower.
