Not happening unless it's a title eliminator.

If Froch loses the vacant belt, he's back to square one. Title eliminator for what, exactly? He wouldn't be getting another title eliminator for the WBC straight away, after a loss.

I guess it could be any of the other 3 abcs...

Of course, they could do it if the money was right but we know HBO is not interested in Froch right now (imagine if he loses to Taylor) and Miranda needs to get a few wins before he can be on HBO or Showtime again... So there's no money for that fight... so they would need another inciting like a title shot or a title to make it happen.

5-6k people would come to see Froch fight Miranda in Nottingham, and ITV would show the fight. Enough money to attract Miranda and give Froch a good pay-day.

I agree. This fight makes sense.

5-6k people would come to see Froch vs a journeyman and ITV would show the fight. Not much to give to the other guy, Froch gets a good payday and Hennessy fills his pockets.

If Miranda is a journeyman, what would Froch be considered if he loses to Taylor? A former Champ? Because he beat Pascal?

Nah...it would be two contenders with fairly equally good resumes, going at it, on the comeback trail.

Losing to Taylor is not the end of the world. Froch could get at least another title eliminator just by keeping active and beating journeyman.

Explain to me why he would risk all that vs a guy like Miranda when he could make the same amount of money fighting the Robin Reid and Tatevosyan of the world while waiting for another opportunity. The risk/reward is not good. A loss to Miranda would send him into retirement. While Miranda is at a stage where he has nothing to lose. Another defeat and he's gone. So he's trying to lend the biggest money fight he can get, probably another title shot.

I'll tell you why! Because if he goes back to fighting C level guys, everyone will think he's a joke after all he's said about willing to fight the best and prove that he's the best 168 lbs fighter in the world.

    ;)

He's going to call every top guys like any other fighter is doing and avoid guys in the same position he is... like every fighter does.

If you haven't figured out yet that there's no one in this business that will take a risk unless there is a title shot, a title or shitloads of money at stakes, then what can I say.

I guess you're an optimist and I'm a cynic.
