I've just posted in another thread, if HBO can't make this a big enough fight, then they simply aren't trying and don't want to be bothered doing their end of the promotion. I'm hoping Taylor's leaving HBO for Showtime is an indication Showtime wants to step up and be a bigger player.

I used to post alot about heavyweights but so much anymore as that weight class lacks something right now. I am a big fan of Pavlik and like 160 pounders and tend to focus on one class at a time in my posts but watch all fights that are on TV from 105 pounds to heavyweights.:bbb

It is all downhill from there. AA is not long for MW. He had trouble making weight against Marquez. He even ended up with the 'flu' over it.

Nobody is going to have one of the "greatest reigns in middleweight history". This is a worse division than the one Hopkins gets criticism for dominating. It is a desolate landscape, which is why we want AA-Pavlik as these are head and shoulders above the rest.

LOL...and then, before mentioning some of the absolute ATG's ever, he pretty much described Pavlik's style.

    Drugs are bad..mmmm..kay.

You are of course correct, sir, but in a way isn't that exactly the point of building it up. Because after these 2 go at it, unless we do a trilogy.....then what. You know.

**** the build up, one holds the WBC, WBO and ring belts and the other holds the IBF and is undefeated with a gr8 KO in the US of a former victim of KP.

Lets just get these belts together ASAP!!!!!!

People are mainly saying build it up cos KP lost.

We are the real boxing fans and should get this fight, they are both gr8 champions and have been for some time noe and are clearly the better 2 in the division.

We can speculate forever as to what will happen at the end of the fight! There might be contraversy. A second fight might be on the table. The most important thing is we have the fight and find out once and for all!

If they really want to hang around this division, they can defend ALL the marbles against John Duddy, Gio Lorenzo and Carlos Monzon's corpse, I don't care! At least they won't be dickteasing us.

What you boxing purists don't understand half of boxing is hype and needs too be more hype here in US for a Pavlik vs Abraham fight if is to be held here in the USA that means Abraham fights Lorenzo on a Pavlik vs Duddy card. If not then Pavlik vs Abraham has to to Germany were be a big event but Pavlik will then might have deal with German funny business:hey

People really don't seem to get, that in the long run, you are defined by those you fought. Right now, Palle is diminishing Joe Calzaghe's career all by himself. Cal/Kess should be considered a career defining fight. Hmm.... Maybe Palle isn't afraid of another Kessler loss. He is just punishing Joe for that loss?

And the winner will be saddled with the sorriest list of mandatories ever seen in the sport of boxing with virtually no chance of taking more meaningful fights.

More likely he is just a bitter old man. Kessler is his only ticket to big money now, so he is desperate to keep hold of him in no risk fights.

We saw how Palle treats his fighters like a commodity when he split with Larsen too...there is history here.

It upsets me a great deal but little can be done by us the fans.

:think...Fine points. So, then, what is the problem? (please remember, I was out of touch for a while there) Is it Old Man Arum, or Team AA? Pavlik was not scared to fight either Joe C. or Hopkins, so he sure as **** ain't scared to fight AA. What's stopping the thing?

    I...dont know.

There seems to be a lot of posturing from all parties.

Both have their defences...then there would seem to be an opportunity to get a deal done. I guess we'll find out who really wants it.
