How do you English and Scottish feel that a Welsh fighter is Britains best?

The loss on his record just show that he fought a better fighter. Regardless of skillsets, Hatton has nearly as good a resume as Calzaghe, Joe should've done more whilst he was prime.

Dont give a shite if he's welsh, I consider myself Scottish and British anyway, though I do agree that the typical view of people from abroad is that Britain is England, and any "best of british" is dominated by english people. Outside sport though, i couldnt give a ****.

 

They should not care that he is an Italian/Welsh fighter, he still is fighting for that region and is proud...Americans have Italians,Irish,German,Russian,Polish,African,Puerto Rican,Mexican,Mixed, ETC....and they are still proud, we love it when they come from our cities such as Brooklyn, L.I. L.A. Chicago, etc....but a lot of them root for a guy because he is Amercian...I don't, I root for the guy I think is the better man and fighter

 

I prefer to be thought of as British. I don't see what the big deal is. You can claim to be "Scottish not British" all you like, but Scotland is Britain and has been for some time. You claim to respect English people being proud to be English, Welsh being proud to be Welsh, but you don't have any respect for a British person being proud to be British. That's a horrible double standard.

Also why English people make up the majority of these "Best British People Ever" lists is simply because the vast majority of British people are English, I believe it's something like 90% of the UK population are English. So it's not a conspiracy to denegrate Scottish achivement. And who gives a **** about those lists anyway?

 

I dont really cae about those lists that much, but it can tend to make it look like we're **** at everything in comparison
