The once so called "best" division in boxing is slowing starting to become the worst division in the sport.

For instance, the once overhyped Margarito was destroyed and is now essentially banned, Cintron is.....I don't know where to start, Berto isn't equal to the hype, PW has moved on to the higher weights, Clottey is no where to be found, Mayweather is "retired" and shows no signs of fighting anymore, and we have no idea what shape Cotto is in after the beating he recieved.

The welterweight division has pretty much fell off the status that it had not only a year ago.

It's definetely not becoming THE WORST in boxing at all, that's why we have the HWs.
But indeed the thrust is going down.

As thunder stated, it is in decline, but the HW division is the weakest of all the divisons.

it is realy amazing how a division can go on a steep decline so quickly

it just shows 1 or 2 big fights change alot of **** in a division

the only way 147 can have a future is if some of the dudes from 140 move up and we dont even know how good many of them are,

WW is still one of the best divisions.

    Mosley
    Cotto
    Williams
    Berto
    Margarito
    Clottey
    Quintana
    Pacquiao
    Collazo
    Judah

    All make for interesting matchups

Yeah, but Shane's 38 he could be done pretty soon, Berto needs ALOT of work in order to competitive at a true champ level, Zab is done IMO and doesn't posses the will or smarts to compete at that high level anymore. Cotto's status is unknown at this point.

Really beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.I really feel welter is always one of the weaker divisions. If a guy is really good they go for $$$ in middleweight, and a lot of really good guys at light stay there for various reasons. Sorry Collazo,Quintella,Martinez just dont ring a bell for me!! As far as the heavies go Wlad, Vitali,HayeGomez(exception boxer),Chaglev are as good as any RECENT TIMES!!!!!:hi:
