That's what I was trying to get my head round....I'm no fan of the football hooligan types that follow the likes of Slappy and Hatton around but they support their fighter better than any American I've ever seen for sure. Same with Lewis, every fight in America all you could hear were the Brits cheering him on :huh

 

It depends what you mean by 'casual' boxing fan I suppose. I suspect half the people that follow Hatton and Slappy around wouldn't have heard of him whereas most people that follow boxing know who the HW champion is but I wouldn't put those people down as 'casual' fans anyway.
