Assuming Cotto does well against Jennings. How would Cotto vs Pacquiao play out in 2009? Catchweight 145. Would Pac be able to pressure and punish Cotto, cracking his crackable chin? Or would Cotto's size and body punching be too much for Pac?
I don't know what will happen if they fight . . . logical choice is Cotto . . . so I'll pick Cotto. People shouldn't be misled by Pac's win over DLH at 147 . . . DLH was there to be beaten up . . . never put up any serious competition since round one. :deal
Margarito looked pretty fast against Cotto ... i'm sure that pacquiao would look like Sugar Ray Robinson against Cotto !!
Good fight but I think the speed, movment and "intelligent" pressure from PAC would be the difference. Size and power will go to Cotto's advantage but, stamina, reflexes, speed and dynamics are all in PAC's favor. Competitive early on but back begins to seperate from Cotto down the stretch earning a UD.
Due to my apparent utter hatred for Cotto, I would normally be ready to jump on this 'Pac > Cotto' bandwagon that sems to be gaining some steam on this thread. But I just can't do it. I have to be honest. I think Cotto would give him the beating of his life. Pac fought a heavy bag his last fight. Did he even get hit clean once against Dela Hoya? He would have a hard time pulling that in/out stunt against Cotto without taking a few telling punches in the meantime. Cotto KO6.
WTF? Sure? Didn't you see what transpired? Cotto got tired and lost all his energy hitting Margarito with impunity on the early rounds. . . . and I can assure you that Cotto will be faster than De La Hoya. :deal
how pac handles hatton is the biggest question which would give us a more of an idea... how you base factual questions on cotto/jennings and not hatton/pac baffels me.
I don't agree with you on either point...but never say never! Everyone said that PAC wouldn't fight DLH and he did. And believe me....PAC's not afraid of Cotto. The fight is very probable and while we don't agree on the outcome I know we agree it will be a hell of a fight! Great for boxing...don't be so negative!:good
Fine, stop being so baffled and read this: If Pac fairs well against Hatton, even in losing, but size is not the determining factor in his loss, but more to do with pressure and style, and Cotto does well against Jennings, how would u see a Pac-Cotto palying out in late 2009? Happy?!
