I'd probably narrow it down to just Hopkins and Pac. The big difference between Pac and Floyd, is well, Pac is actually an active fighter. Floyd retired with way too many unanswered questions. Seems to me if you want a legacy..go out and fight. Now if he could get by Mosley, or beat Cotto before 2010 is finished, that would go aways towards putting him near the other two.

 

When I said BHop could do something that would give fighter of the decade to him, I was thinking about Adamek. A 44 year old career middleweight beating a top CW would be simply amazing.

Also, i just don't get why people rank PBF above Hopkins. So what if he beat "world champions" :roll: in 5 different weight classes. Yeah, beating "world champions" these days sure mean a lot huh? Look at their resumes and level of competition. It's not even close.

Can someone please explain to me why you have PBF over Hopkins?

 

Can't vote for this for another 10 month's but it's between Hopkins, Pacquiao and Mayweather.
I've got a feeling that Hopkins might retire, and if Floyd doesn't come back this year then Pacquiao would take the honers.

 

I'm not going to comment on PBF. I simply loathe the man.

I do think Hopkins could beat Adamek. He might have to stink up the joint doing it, but it's a winnable fight.

I pick Mayweather.

 

Pacquiao, especially if he beats Hatton down as I suspect he will.

By the end of the decade, Pacquiao will have edged ahead of Hopkins as the winner of The Fighter Of The Decade. Mayweather 3rd place, he retired too early, he retired without taking as many tough assignments as B-Hop and the Pacman.

 

1. Pacman-a couple losses but clearly fought the best fighters
Best wins: MAB, JMM, Morales, DLH

2. Mayweather-Undefeated and maybe the best on film but Pac has fought and beat better fighters.
Best wins: DLH, Corrales, Castillo, and Hatton

3. B-Hop-2nd half of his middleweight champion reign and fought better competation than Mayweather after he moved up to LHW a couple close losses keep him from being #1 or #2.
Best wins: Tarver, Pavlik, Wright, and Trinidad
