Maskaev-Klitschko!!!!

Can anyone remember the last WBC title fight that wasn't against a Mandatory? Wasn't it Maskaev vs Okhello?atsch The WBC seems to only allow mandatories these days. I guess Maskaev got a pass since a great like Okhello simply can't be denied.

I cant belive it,its not that i dont like Maskaev but he has done nothing to deserve a title fight.I dont know why the sactioning bodies let things like this happen its just bad for the sport.

There were some news that the WBC was doing this to get off the legal suit Maskaev had put on their backs for screwing him up on the Peter fight.

Well, I don't see it this way, Maskaev was holding the belt hostage since he won it and trying to avoid Peter by every way possible.

I'm not against giving Maskaev a shot but as Vitali is just getting out of a mandatory fight, he should be given at least 10 free months for voluntary defenses before being ordered to fight a mandatory again. And Maskaev should be forced to, at least fight a WBC top 15 HW to earn that right.

 

This is the reason the Heavyweight division is the laughing stock of boxing, I just dont get it, give the fans a good fight for **** sake. I grant you, Arreola isn't much better than Maskaev, but I would rather seen that than this. It just seems like Wlad's couple matches couldn't get any easier for him, and fight fans like myself are being forced to eat meatloaf instead of steak, and thats why I refuse to order HBO for this fight.

 

Dennis Rappaport has apparently greased someone's palm.

Maybe they will try to sell this fight by saying Oleg KOed Vitali in sparring years ago, or whatever that thing was he was so proud of.

Lame fight, yes. Waste of time.

 

Makes you wonder how Vitali's body will hold up after being forced to fight so frequently

 

Rappaport has a relationship with Jose Suliaman going all the way back to 1982 when he got Gerry Cooney the WBC #1 ranking to force a Holmes fight.

Dennis knows how to play Suliamman and the WBC like a fiddle and it works everytime.

 

It's not a good fight for Maskaev's health but he deserves a last payday and he would give Vitali a harder fight than Arreola or Peter would do.

The WBC is making Maskaev the next mandatory fight for the WBC title. Which would force the winner of Vitali vs Gomez to fight him. You hate Wlad so bad that you can't even think straight before taking the chance to bash him. This has nothing to do with Wlad.atsch

 

I know, I just admitted to my mistake on the other thread. I read it too fast, and instantly thought it meant Wlad since he's not fighting Haye now.
