    It could happen allegedly.

All Mosley has to do is lay back at this point and keep his fingers crossed that Pacquiao gets past Hatton.

  2. I doubt Mosley minds who wins between hatton-Paq, he knows deep down that he will knock either one out:yep..

Team Hatton may not be as willing though. Certainly not at 147.

While I have no problem with the result of the first Cotto-Mosley bout, I scored it a draw. If I had to pick one or other, it would have been Mosley.

    Great fight !

But it was close enough that a rematch was reasonable.

And that was BEFORE Mosley defeated Miguel's conqueror, Margarito.

So if Marg is out for a year and Miguel refuses to face Shane (while Shane still has something left), it could be argued that Miguel is ducking the sugar man.

I never believe much in what Arum says. Like this weekends fights, he originally listed Cintron-Clottey and Peterson-Diaz as fights he'd like to put on the show and you see just who ends up on the show. I think making a Pacquaio-Cotto fight is clearly a money scenario. Arum promotes both guys so he wouldn't have to share the promotion profits with anyone. I also think Cotto won't be fighting anyone that big when he fights at MSG this June. That is becoming a tradition and Cotto can sell out the place fighting almost anyone. I'd expect someone like Cintron or maybe jr welter moving up to be Cotto's opponent that night. Cotto-Mosley or Pacquaio won't happen until late 2009 at the earliest.

I would absolutely love this rematch. I had Cotto winning the first one, but Mosley had a lot of strength late, and looked great in his most recent showing. There should be a lot of interest in this one... and to be frank, it just MAKES SENSE.

Rafael you have a knack for sniffing these things out.....

Very interesting....because that fight will bring in some cash simply because of the dynamics....Margie beat Cotto....Cotto beat Mosley...Mosley beat Margie....ect...

There could be some politics and axes grinding.....but bottom line Arum is
the greediest along with Don King.

Somehow because Arum doesnt want the Mosley fight (eventhough it is yet to be proven), it means Cotto is ducking him. I wanted a Mosley rematch after the first fight but everyone said that Cotto would be beating up on an old fighter again. What happened?

According to Steve Kim, Richard Schaefer and Arum have had preliminary discussions about a Cotto-Mosley rematch. They'll more than likely resume talks next week or when they meet up in England for the Hatton-Pacquiao press tour (given that Cotto gets past Jennings).

the plan seems to be Cotto vs Pac sometime in November

A Cotto vs Mosley fight could seriously put that in jeopardy.

Maybe Cotto vs Collazo would be a smart move for Puerto Rican Day. Collazo is probably willing to fight for a small purse, and he is Puerto Rican from NYC. And he is coming off a nice performance against Berto.

The only people I have faith in at this point are possibly Cotto because we haven't heard much from him, and Shaefer. They seem like the only guys in the situation interested in trying to be reasonable. Shaefer is acting on the part of GBP and Mosley obviously in saying that he intends to explore it further. So far I've heard Arum say no 3 times directly and indirectly.

    :huh

Based on what Arum said at Cotto's telephone conference call?

There has been absolutely no indication from Team Pacquiao that they have even considered this fight at any point is there? I can't even recall them saying Cotto's name. All these rumors are based on a reporter asking Arum if he would consider this matchup, and his response was basically "...yeah, obviously I would try and make this fight, but I can't decide for them.."

well i'm jumping the gun which is why i said "seems to be" but infact Roach has mentioned that Cotto would be a great fight for Pac and its a money fight and we all know if it makes money, it makes sense. Also both are Top Rank guys so the promoter has a nice incentive to do it, and the timing fits in well also.
