yeah. joe should be looking to take on the young studs like tarver and johnson.

    OH NOES HE DIDNTS!!!!111ONE!!!!!!!11111

stupid ****ing arguement considering chad has been fighting people in the same age bracket that joe has whilst being considerably younger than calzaghe who he has also recently targeted.

even at the age of 44 hopkins can comfortably beat the snot out of both tarver and johnson. age is a number, get that into your thick skulls.

Actually the older vets are looking for Chad! They were looking to prove they were still relevant even at their advnanced age.....And not everyone is NARD. 44 in boxing is something that is incredible especially if you are preforming at an ELITE level like Nard. There will probably not be anther Bhop to come around for a LOOOOOONG time. AGe is a # but a special fighter is NOT the norm by any means which Bhop is.

Joe does need a fight with Dawson in my opinion ... he hasn't fought anyone with a credible name - who's in their prime ... His biggest wins are against guys who are older than him and who haven't achieved much later on in their careers.
I give him credit against Kessler, but Kessler hasn't made much noise since the loss to Calzaghe and I don't know how Kessler would measure up against an elite American fighter.

Dawson is the #1 guy in the light heavyweight division -

Dawson is a 2-time light heavyweight world champin -

He beat the two guys that beat Jones at his peak - (Johnson and Tarver)

He has a decent fan base ... he is headlining shows ... he headlined against Johnson, Tarver, and Adamek

Unfortunately for Joe....this will always be a case. Only b/c MOST feel he's never lived up to the kind of potential he had with his skills, talent and natrual ability. He had a stellar career in terms of beating BIG names, but unfortunatley they are met with BIG question marks due to the fact he beat Old or Past ther best legends. There is no denying his great skills and talent but the big question is could he have beaten GREAT fighters who were either at their Physical PRIME or overall at their best.

Johnson would be a better fight two tough veterans. Johnson much more deserving than Dawson imo

Dude, who is Chad Dawson? Man, this sounds just like the Pavlik threads before he got schooled by B-hop.

Guys, Calzaghe has nothing left to prove...ten years from now a Chad Dawson will not do anything to improve his resume. This is why he is retired.

:lol::lol:... By no means am I a Chad Dawson fan nor do i think he can beat JC. I haven't seen enough of him to make to have an opinion.

However, I do have an opnion on Joe and his "legacy" (if you want to call it that)

Joe faced two ATG's way past their prime. BHOP & Jones easily beat JC just a few years ago. In fact, I thought BHOP beat already beat Joe. Fact is Joe did this and now brags about it. Thats what i cant stand about the man.

Ask yourself, is beating Chad Dawson going to make his resume that much better?

Ten years from now, is the name "Chad Dawson" going to enhance his standing among boxings' elite?

    No!!

Yea but Calzaghe would slap Dawson all over... he's just another lacy-esque hype-job.

I think taking these young guys like Pavlik and Dawson and expecting them to beat old legends is extremely naive, and Pavlik paid the price for that.
