Technically we aint had a HW champ since Gene Tunney.

But, seriously, the last true champion was Lewis. There's been no champion since. Just imitators and clowns and side show attractions.

There was one upon a time, a day and age where the champions of the world took on all comers, no matter how good they are. These days? They either tip toe around contenders with contractual bs or they simply dont fight them at all. The best fights for the division, they wont ever make.

    Plain and simple.

I wish it was still the 80's. Coetzee, Dokes, Weaver, Page, Tubbs, all of them had more balls and guts even if they lost the title in their first defenses. Least they took risks and fought the best.

Don't you think it ironic that the majority of Americans on here support a Russian guy over a British? Just a thought.

    Why ironic?

Wlad lives a lot of time in the US, had an american coach, speaks the language very well.

KlitschKOs do a lot of community work. They want to give back to the community. They are really a global phenomenon, down to earth sportsmen knocking out their opponents in the name of children, true UNICEF ambassadors.

How's that ironic to you? I don't care where he's from, Wladimir Klitschko is a true champion who's proven so by constantly defending & winning against the highest available competition. He doesn't need to talk **** outside the ring & he's a great role model for the kids to look up to.

Dude, save your efforts. Those character traits that you mention obvoiusly don't matter to anyone on this forum.

Most of his detractors want another foul mouth idiot like Tyson. Apparently, people would rather spend $60.00 on a pay per view to see a Tysonesque fighter KO some bum with 1 punch, 40 seconds into round one.

    Ignorance is bliss, I guess!!

It is not that funny for Wladimir's opponents who take heavy punishment.

This **** is old already. Before the negotiations started, Adam Booth kept saying how easy it will be for the Klitchko's & Haye to put the fight together themselves.
