Personally, I enjoy the hype. I know its all **** and mirrors but that's one of the great things about this sport. You can't take it all too seriously! I'm looking forward to the green mundine chat even if it is scripted. Bit of shits and giggles..

Mate the only thing that really irritates me is that the idiotic media buys into this rubbish and ignore bonefide and legit fighters like Vic and Kats. U walk into any pub and noone has ever heard of either fighter (this idiot bogan in the pub thought Vic's name was Ruben in the Arce fight), yet everyone seems to have an opinion on those 2 clowns.

After Vic became the first man to unify the division he should have received a home coming parade, with media all over it. Instead he comes home to an empty airport and gets a 10 second spot on Sports Tonight. While at the same time, they devote an entire news report and interview with Mundine talking **** about the Taylor fight, as if to sell to us this fight is something significant.

one of the main problems with promoting vic has been his ordinary level of english. its hard to understand what he is saying sometimes. u can hear the words but his grammer is not too flash. so i wonder if that has anything to do with it. but yes he should be a sporting god if it is based purely on achievements.

I think you have a point here. I think it's hard for the casual fan to understand who Vic is fighting for, especially when he is introduced as fighting for Armenia in the Olympics but coming from Sydney but by way of Armenia, it clouds everything a bit. But at the end of the day, I get it so it doesn't bother me a great deal.

When the fight begins, who really cares about the flag/banner Vic represents?? His fighting ability is all that counts. The struggle with the English language is compensated by his fighting nature, cockiness, relentless attack and resolve.

He represents the fight game in general. A damn shame numerous other 'greats' dont offer the same interesting match-ups, as frequently...

Definatley. It doesnt matter at all to the boxing fan, but I think it has something to do with the lack of support from the casual aussie fan. A minor, but relevant point I think.

Australians love to have winners represent them. Vic is a winner, and i'm sure considers part of himself to be Australian. I'd like to think that part is his fists.

Vic without a doubt considers himself Australian. He is just also proud of his Armenian background which is why he comes into the ring with both flags.

*Just something I also noticed the other day, that Brisbane Lions captain Jonathon Brown was carrying the Aussie flag for Vic during the Mijares fight.

Sometimes I wonder if Mundine even considers himself Australian. The only things that come out of his mouth about Australia are derogatory.

I take it you havent tried to book many stadiums ?

They sort of fill quickly with only 52 Wednesdays in a year and half of them clashing with stuff you dont want to run against or shithouse weather. So yeah sometimes they do.

But what I now know is it could be at either Subiaco or Members Equity Oval - depending on which gives the best offer ;)

Last I will post about this - I dont give two hoots either way.
