I'm sorry but Hopkins got spanked in that interview. Merchant is a legend, I don't understand why people are getting on Larry's case. That was the single most entertaining interview I've seen in awhile, and wasn't the usual bull****, "Talk us through the reply". Great stuff from Larry - I'll miss him.
As a Brit i think its weird and pathetic that you have to put up with that drunken *****. Why is he employed? He's spoken about as if he's an important, credible figure in Boxing. He's just a tool. Weird.
"Great stuff from Larry"?.....WTF?:? Thats my point. People like you respect the idiot.:huh Hopkins took him to the cleaners in that exchange,no doubt about it.
Eh? He's a sick commentator! He's honest, stylish, legendary, gets to the point and doesn't talk **** like the other young guys...
I respect him. He gets us the interviews we want to hear, and under any any means unnecessary. Why did that fight even happen? He called Hopkins out on calling Jr Middleweights, an issue that has always been raised on ESB when Bernard's resume is concerned. At the end of the day, they were both joking when all things were done, but that interview was more entertaining than the fight. That was because of Larry, who was actually raising questions that needed to be answered.
yeah, BHOP held his own......for sure...hes no dummy. funny thing is, jermain taylor went on to fights 3 junior middle weights in a row after he won the title
Fair enough. You admire him and think he's an imporant figure;I think he's an odious annoying twat. We agree to disagree:good
I think you're a sensitive butterfly who needs to appreciate the true icons of this great sport. Make no mistake about it - Larry Merchant is an icon.
No i dont find him offensive or brusque, thats not the issue.Im not sensitive. He just irritates me. To you he's an icon. That baffles me.He's not a legendary trainer or fighter, just a commentator. Thats not remotely iconic to me.So many people could commentate given the chance.
