Announcement? Is he announcing his intention of stepping up? Has he got the balls to fight Bika? I doubt it. Bika is not Miranda. Oh, btw. isn't Miranda the guy who beat Green - and by decision too!:-(...yeah...he definitely deserves the privilege of turning title fights down, when they're offered in good faith. Or are they going to feed him Lacy? Is that the announcement?
Miranda beat a 50% of Allan Green who was seriously ill. Even then he couldn't knock green out. A 50% of Green knocked him down with a left hook, rocky style. Now that just shows what kind of warrior Green is. :deal
Unless I'm mistaken (I may be) but I remember showtime mentioning that Dirrell is in line (or expected to be in line) for a future shot at Inkin. I also think it's a bit much to expect Ward to face Bika. Bika is for prospects ready to make the step up to championship style fights. Ward is very far behind in terms of that sort of opponent. He's being built properly which means Bika would be out of the question for at least 2-3 years.
Indeed you are mistaken but it's not your fault. Dirrell vs Oganov was incorrectly billed as a WBO title eliminator for Inkin's title(which he lost later to Balzsay).
Green is no where near overrated. he gets killed on these boards and everywhere else. he is a good fighter with one punch power to put a man on his ass and a decent set of skills. i take him to stop bika. Codrington put bika down and green will not let him finish. when he has his head in the fight and not on his colon he is a force to be reckoned with. I call it a early night for green.
He had him down twice and almost a third time but time expired in the round. I remember Green being so beaten that he grabbed to hold on, slumped and fell...pantsing Miranda in the process. Green was also knocked down by some can from the Midwest whose name escapes me at this present moment. He also has a problem with looking down at his shoes over and over. Personally I'd try to match Green up with Pascal. Pascal is coming off a loss, can't knock Green out (IMO) and while he'd be a pain stylistically, he can be hurt if ya catch him. Winner PROBABLY propels himself into a title shot.
Dirrell fighting Balzsay? I wouldn't do that if I was Dirrell. Don't think he's ready. Balzsay is pretty good, and quite experienced. It's the WBO, so he'll only fight Dirrell when he'll want to. Good point about Ward. How about Bika, then...is Green ready for that kind of challenge? Yeah, sure, he'd outbox Bika for a couple of rounds, although that is not 100% guaranteed either, unless he starts well, but what happens when Bika takes him into the deep, dark waters later on? Bika doesn't box. He fights like a beast, especially against the kind of opponent where he spots a weakness.
Realistically I think he'll face a semi tough opponent and look for the big one afterwards. Maybe Berrio, Stieglitz, Mendy, or Haussler?
Donny McCrary is the guy that knocked him down. IMO Pascal is a very underrated fighter and would give anyone hell in the division,I was quite dissapointed in his performance with Froch actually,he could and should have done much beter.
I believe thunder has cleared up my previous error about Dirrell being in line for a title. NOW that Inkin has lost the strap, maybe Inkin vs Dirrell can go down I think it depends on whether Dirrell stays focused or has the lapses in his mental game that we've seen from time to time. I think Allan Green is ready for Bika in terms of his ability and stylistically. As per mentally? I dunno. There's your underlying story in the fight.
That's a great fight but i doubt Pascal will be ready to face Green in March. Green is fighting on the undercard of Taylot/froch. Green/pascal would be perfect though.
Pascal had Froch in the fight (at least on my worthless cards) until the 10th round when he gassed and Froch took advantage. Very good fight with tons of drama...even on a shitty feed.
