your rite, there is a difference and nobodys gonna argue that oscar took way more punishment. but the fact still remains that oscar made the call just like duran did. both could have went on but felt like they didnt have a chance at winning therefore they quit. no mas
Hmm... Somewhere else De La Hoya said he felt like a "zombie" on the way to the ring. It seemed pretty obvious that De La Hoya started having a tantrum at a certain point, feeling sorry for himself, possibly hoping everyone else would feel sorry for him, may have decided to cover himself with an excuse by intentionally doing physically less than he was actually capable, and just let Pacquiao throw his combinations and fully humiliate him. De La Hoya started :| while the fight was still going on. Seemingly.
DLH's brother was the one who called it off. Nacho starts telling DLH's it's not worth it and you can see his brother waving his hand on the left of Oscar motioning "no" to Nacho. Go to 3:25 of the video to see Joel waves his hand for the first time. DLH had no argument to begin with for it to continue. I don't care to see him fight anymore. Well he was being honest. I give him credit for that, although he is starting to make excuses like he was not himself, so I expect him to keep fighting at 154 pounds.
I am not being funny but Oscar new he was not going to win the fight, he was just standing there getting beaten worse and worse, it was painful to watch, i could see in the 6th round it was going to end badly for DLH. I think what Oscar was trying to say was, he wanted out of that fight because he knew he was going to be hurting for a month, if he was knocked out perhaps he wouldn't hurt for 2 months.
It looks like he was saying during the 7th round he wanted to be knocked out, because he simply couldn't compete. That probably explains why he quit, after he wasn't knocked out.
Oscar didn't quit anyways. His corner stopped the fight. Why does everyone just want to say that someone quit so bad? His corner was in his face telling him that they were going to stop the fight two rounds in a row.... get your heads out of your ass.
oh shut your bitchass up. it was oscars fight & event. if he really wanted to keep fighting NOBODY in his corner would have stopped him. watch the ****ing video thats posted.
come on you guys know that oscar cant retire like that! He needs a good win at least then he can retire!
He quit just like Peter did against VITLAY, 8 rounds of being beaten up and dominated, no chance to win the fight so he quit. I don't blame him or Peter for doing what they did either.
Are you crying? Oscar didn't quit, his corner stopped the fight. If you actually followed this sport you would know that it happens A LOT.
