Even if Pavlik would have knocked Rubio out with the first punch he threw, the Hopkins fight wouldn't be anymore winnable. Hopkins is smarter, and understands that if you offset Pavlik's rhythm, he won't throw punches. Likewise, in the event Kelly does get off, nobody catches punches any better than Hopkins. Kelly should stay away from Bernard.

You know, I just thought Pavlik would have shown a few signs of improvement. But he's exactly the same fighter. Flat footed. Hardly any head movement. Moves in straight lines. Predictable combinations. Gets tagged when there is the slightest angle involved.

If a twelve round ass whipping by an ATG doesn't convince you your style needs some tweaking, nothing will. People hoping to see a retooled Pavlik tonight got nothing.

Agreed. I like Pavlik, but I'm toning down my expectations some.

He's only beating Abraham by absorbing insane punishment early in the hopes Abraham fades late.

What isn't next for Pavlik? Arthur Abraham is not in Pavliks future that's for sure. Though it's the logical and most exciting fight for Pavlik, Arum and Pavlik's people are going to hand pick someone like Duddy or Sturm. Of course Arum will once more state that a fight with Abraham makes no financial sense since no one knows who he is outside of Germany. LOL

Duddy showed me tonight that he won't make it out of the 6th round against Pavlik. Sturm is a fine boxer but has almost no power so I see Pavlik walking him down for a stoppage late.

I was also surprised that Pavilk was gun shy tonight. I am glad he won but I was not impressed with Pavliks performance.

What isn't next for Pavlik? The Undisputed Middleweight Championship...that's what.

Jack Loew doesn't have the tools to retool Kelly's style. What fans may not realize is that Jack has a worsening case of Tourette's syndrome. Every time he's around a boxing setting, his tick is to continue chanting "double jab!" over and over again. If he were training Rocky to fight a bear, rest assured you'd hear nothing but "double jab!" even after Rocky's arms were eaten off.

I wanna see Abraham get some and see what he really has. These other non competitive fights out there won't do anything for Pavlik.

I agree with this 100%. I think Pavlik's teachable especially since he's so young but it's not going to happen with Jack Loew. He's going to need to improve vastly if he hopes to contend with fighters like Abraham.

If the abraham fight doesn't happen next i would rather see pavlik fight felix sturm than sergio mora.

Well he mentioned Mundine, we know that Mundine won't get in the ring with someone that can even stand up on their own these days.
