Mosley possibly YAPPED his way out of a rematch with Cotto...at least for now.

Everyone knows Cotto fights on the eve of the Peurto rican parade at Madison Square Garden every year. He sells out MSG and its a tradition for him that I doubt he would break.

So now that Mosley opened his yap and publicly stated that he refuses to fight in N.Y. Then I guess Bob is going to look elsewhere for Cotto. Now I know people may disagree with this but I think that Mosley should want this fight alittle more then Cotto because although Mosley now has a belt, the fact remains that he lost to Cotto the first time around. And should want to avenge that.

Plus Mosley is 37 and is running out of time, where Cotto has years of options availible.

So IMO Mosley is kinda of an ******* for that and is pissing me off. Mosley is In my top 3 active favorite fighters but I am mad at him for this.

Mosley has options he is the champ of a great division.

How about Cotto-Clottey and Mosley-Berto and the winners fight each other in a neutral venue like Las Vegas. Simple.

No, there is no way he should want that fight more.
Cotto was beaten into submission by the man Mosley punished.
Furthermore that first fight was as close as it gets,I was rooting for Cotto but felt Shane pulled it out

Mosley isn't fighting in NY again because last time he got robbed against Cotto imo and Cotto got favours from the ref. Cotto should man up and rematch Mosley in LV because his paper title means nothing as do the other options hes looking at

Yea Mosley beat Marg but this isn't about Margarito. Fact remains that Cotto has a Win againest Mosley so has pull.

I think Mosley thinks he lost the first fight because as the crowd reacted at every Cotto shot, making an impact on the judges. However, I think Cotto won fairly, and the judges scored right, so if Shane is looking for the rematch, he should fight Cotto anywhere. But I also agree that Mosley is the champion now, so he should be in charge.

But the thing is: Bob is not looking for Mosley at all, he clearly stated he's not interested in the rematch. He's looking for a Top Rank fighter, and was ready to make the Margarito rematch AFTER Tony got knocked out. So now he's looking for either Clottey or Pacquiao, and if not a Top Rank fighter, than a cheaper, beatable guy like Berto (I think it's a very winnable fight) or Cintron (who was knocked out and outpointed in one night and still ran away with a draw).

Everything can be sorted out by negotiations, but Arum refuses to negotiate a Cotto-Mosley rematch.

Yea on paper he does have the win.
But at this time he doesn't have the pull.
Mosley is the man to beat at welter and is the true and only champ.
The first fight was so close it could have gone either way.
And while I don't have a problem with Cotto getting the W.,the scoring by the judges were terrible
If I remember correctly all 3 judges had cotto by a wide margin

Nah your wrong for sure....He may have the W but Mosley is now ranked higher than Cotto at #1 and Cotto at #2...He fought the last one in NY why should he have to fight the rematch there...If cotto wants it than Arum should get it but Arum is a bit34 bout it...let him fight Clottey and Mosley fight Berto and the winners face off!:happy

    clottey and berto arent moneyspinners.

they are dangerous fighters who havent got a foot on the ladder yet.

he's right - cotto gets pulling power from beating mosley.

Calling Shane Mosley an ******* is a bit unfair to Shane.

I think Cotto-Mosley will happen but not in NY even though that's where the most money is for both men. The casino industry is dying in Vegas and it's pretty much UFC territority now.

I think Mosley-Cotto II happens in Cali.

I'm pissed too. But for various different reasons the vast majority of fans disagree with you. The Puerto Rican day parade wasn't moving enough apparently. Right now, Cotto is a 'New York fighter' as far as American fight fans are concerned. That little money grab Arum has been making out there in NY every year has cost Cotto a more evenly spread fanbase. He's going to be hurt by that ultimately. How is Shane Mosley supposed to be impressed with the needs of some people on the other side of the country? Like they're supposed to be greater needs than his? He's the king of LA.
