I agree a fighter is responsible for his teams entire actions, Such should be the case with Mosley and his people at Balco but somehow the commissions are seemingly okay with steroid use, so whats the point in making it illegal?

If you allow a fighter to get off scott free claiming "didn't know" it makes it too easy fo0r others to do the same. Regardless of whether Margarito knew, he does bare some responsibility.

I'm not one of those "loaded gloves is much worse than steroids" clowns. I agree they both are dangerous. Shane admitted to unkowingly taking them and even passed an FBI administered polygraph. And it wasn't steroids. But I still think he is responsible.

But none of that has any bearing on what Margarito is accused of doing. None. And it's pretty laughable for Margo fans to start talking about Shane, when he isn't the issue. Like I said, I hope Margo is innocent, so we can put all these Cotto excuses to rest. But if he had plaster in his gloves, he should be held responsible instead of passing the buck to his trainer.

True, what Margarito is accused of doing is pretty ****ing bad, its probably the worse you can get in this sport, but he is accused so far, nothing has been proven other than his trainer admitting to using old pads.

There hasnt been any banned substance found yet, so if its a case of just old pads, I think its safe to say that everybody clearly over reacted to this issue.

I think the ones defending Margarito are just as over the top as the ones who accuse him. Both sides are going too far. It's clear that he did something he had no business. But it's also clear he didn't have bricks either.

I just hope they hurry up and make a determination. I kinda like Margarito, although he and his people did some other **** I didn't like. And aside from these allegations, he really earned his way to the top.

I know its a poor analogy but I'm just trying to point out that we don't have any evidence that the wraps were illegal or that they gave an an advantage in a fight or that Margarito actually wore them in a fight or that Margarito knew they were illegal.......

If Margo is guilty then he should get a very lengthy ban but as far as I can see there hassn't been much proven???

    I agree.....

Its only the accusations by the fans and media of plaster of Paris, and bafoons like Lennnox Lewis stating that Margarito's wraps were the equivalent of fighting with brass knuckles......

......let me add that I dont believe that one would have to know rocket science to figure out that a wet pad insert would get stiff only until it dries.

....in this case Margarito was going in to fight, his fists were going to sweat heavily and the inside of those gloves would be hot and void of air circulating, which would prevent that moist pad from hardening.

I'm all for Capetillo getting fined and penalized. Whether done intentionally or not, he should have been more careful.

However, these plaster of paris accusations have got to stop, and the CSAC must come out and state they too made a monumental mistake, and have been throughout the years by not taking Nevada's lead and supplying the fighters with the materials needed to wrap their fists.

Whats done is done.....without an appeal, Margarito will likely serve his one year suspension for a moistened gauze insert on his knucklepads.

.....what pisses me is that the CSAC will pretend that the only wrong doing on their part was letting the knucklepad travel over to Mosely's dressing room out of their sites, when they have done much more wrong than that, beggining with letting the fighters use their own wrapping materials, to letting Capetillo put a premade knucklepad on Margarito without as so much as taking that knucklepad to inspect it carefully.
.....and to conceal the confiscated knucklepads and not letting Capetillo and Margarito know what was wrong with them.

Who the hell is going to suspend the CSAC for their many mistakes and inadequacies?

There hasn't been but 3-4 who really defended Margarito blindly. Many are saying what Freddy and bazooka were, that it hasn't even been made official what they were. Or that the investigation to this point, has been handled pretty badly. Pimp, Scar, 1lehudon, pit, toopretty, the some other floyd fanboys....ALL jumped to conclusion immediately and seemingly will not budge no matter what.

It is nice to see there are more like yourself who sees that this isn't as cut and dry as the accusations that came out right away.

Did you not see Mosely's ESPN interview clip that posted in this very thread?

In Mosely's own words, Richardson asked to see and feel the knucklepad, and its only through taking it in his hand and playing with it, did he suspect something inside it did'nt feel right........

Richardson did'nt suspect anything through just placing it in his hand, he had to go through the whole knucklepad feeling it to spot the insert (moistened gauze) inside of it.

My question is how could Margarito feel the insert inside the knucklepad on his fist, when it took Richardson thouroughly playing and feeling it with his fingers to spot it????

In that interview Mosely said himself that the pad just looked like a regular knucklepad, but because of the moistened insert, had the potential to harden, key word being "POTENTIAL"

Listen now BOZOS, it gets even more interesting.....
....Mosely who would have been on the recieveing end of those wraps and who inspected them himself, goes on to say that he believes Margarito likely did'nt know anything about them.
Mosely believes Capetillo should be punished, but not Margarito.

NEWSFLASH.....Shane Mosley, not Lennox Lewis who claims that the wraps were equivalent to brass knuckles, is the only fighter (that knows a thing or two about having his hands wrapped) is the only fighter to have inspected the actual knucklepad.....and he deems that Margarito likely did'nt know and would not have been able to spot the illegality of it on his fists!

No idea where you're going with that analogy, and don't think it applies, since Margarito would have been doing increased damage, and would have stood to benefit from his trainer's actions had the illegal wrapping not been detected (by having an increased chance of winning the fight). Luis Resto was held responsible for his trainer's actions during his fight with Billy Collins, even though he initally claimed not to have any knowledge of what was going on...same thing applies here.

So because Resto knew what his trainer was doing it automatically means that Margarito did too?

I believe Drew is saying the boxer still deserves to be punished. Maybe this will at the very least force more boxers aware of what's going on for accountability.

Margarito makes a great case for not knowing, backed up by the inspector that was there viewing them wrap, and also backed up by Mosely himself who has seen and felt the knucklepad.

This ruling will force boxers to be aware and accountable?????:patsch
What about the ****ing inspectors who's job it is to make certain that these types of things dont happen.

The fighters are to be made accountable but the inspectors are not?

What the hell are they there for?

Judging by how poorly the CSAC has handled this whole fiasco, I'm certain it runs from top to bottom in their whole commision......and I can only be led to believe that fighters have in fact been injured due to this commisions inability to properly regulate and inspect what the trainers have put in fighters wraps.

This commision is a complete joke.....that dont have to make an example of Margarito who's backed up by their own ****ing inspector and the opposing fighter......
....they have to make an example of themselves and admit to their own disturbing inadequacies and take steps to fix their own wrong doings from top to bottom.

......these baffoons are going to start by making an example of a fighter who may very well be innocent.

.....oh, I see, its the American way, the defendant must prove his innocence, the burden of proof lies with the defendant, guilty until proven innocent!!!:patsch:roll::-(

I know I have said this many times. But seriously, these lead paint eating Margarito fans need to be put down. Or even worse, forced to drown in a pool of Margarito's hair grease.
