Man I haven't seen this said much on the few threads i've read but I actually though Cotto looked pretty sluggish. Like his speed I felt was ****. He defence looked pretty good most of the time. And I'm undesided about how I feel about his patient approach. But yeah for the most part the biggest thing that stood out for me is that he looked pretty sluggish. I think he probably needs at least one more fight before I'd be convinced he's ready for clotty. That and the rematch with Mosely are in my mind really bad fights for him right now.

Jennings wasn't exactly cooperating. He was trying his damnedest to be a cutie/spoiler. I think Cotto was disinterested until he hurt Jennings and then kicked it into normal gear because his confidence returned.

If the tries that approach he might get into some deep **** against the Clottey/Mosley types of the world.

He will be more than motivated if he fought Clottey or Mosely. That disinterest shouldn't be an issue against one of those guys... Because if it is, he will be put to sleep.

Yeah thats the other possibility. I don't think Cotto is always the smartest guy in there. I'd like to see him in there with another Carlos Quintana type guy, like maybe collazo or a fight with Cintron would be interesting too.

First of all, you need to get your facts staright!!!!!!

He said what helped him was the loss....that he is stronger pyscologically.
He never to this day accepts the fact that Margie used loaded gloves against him...Cotto says that he wants to believe that Margie had a great night against him.

Your thread in all honesty is based on bad information...you should have
    done your homework.

Thread starter is looking too much into Cotto's actions outside the fight. What's important was his impressive comeback performance, albeit against an unknown opponent. I would be more worried if Cotto ran into trouble last night.

What Cotto said was that Mosleys win helped him mentally, not that the hand wrap incident did. Of course the Mosley win helped him, he already beat Mosley, who beat Margarito, so he feels inside he can beat Margo next time.

I was thinking the same. I'd be interested to find out how much he weighed the night of the fight because he looked heavier than he has in past fights. Cotto was coming off of his longest layoff of his career so I give him the benefit of the doubt and don't believe he needs another fight before facing Clottey. With another training camp he should be able to get back to his normal fitness level.

If you think its fitness thats the problem. If he's going down the route of meldric taylor though thats another thing.

    1) Not what he said. What he said was that he was happy that Mosely had beaten up Margarito. To me that could mean that he was happy to see Tony get his ass righteously kicked. It could also mean that he got some vindication from having his only loss avenged by somebody he'd beat. or it could mean both. Or neither. You're reading too much into it.

    2) He was right. What's wrong with that?

Regarding the mental/emotional discipline of Cotto ; In interviews, various interviewers try repeatedly to get Cotto to blame his loss on the possibility that Margarito used "enhanced" wraps in their fight. The temptation must have been very great to do so. He didn't. That's discipline. You are seeing what you want to see. That's my analysis...
