'the man' likes to put accross that he is supremely confident. he trash talks opponents in a 'cliche ****ed up' way. he taunts his usually much older opponents as over the hill, even though thats why he picked em.... somethings going on with mundiens head though... you know something is getting to a boxer when shannon taylor can sledge you into leaving a press conference simply by telling you the truth....(" hey anthony, even little old ladies hate you..") WHAT?? anthony walked AWAY from the media spotlight????!!! then, yesterday, mundine was boo'd by the crowd at a CHARITY(!!!) cricket match. that was as he walked FROM the field. he raised his bat to the crowd, in acnowledgement. the news story didnt show the reception anthony was given when he walked ON the field....... mundine is getting older.....he knows it. he is aware of history, and he talks about how he thinks he fits into it.....(im gunna be the bradman of boxing....etc). he hasnt beaten anyone yet to put him into the category of australias best ever boxers, let alone a 'bradman'...time is running out. hes getting out sledged by has beens, old ladies hate him, and mum and dad with kids crowds, boo him...he now walks out of press conferences, and must cringe at what reception he will get from ANY crowd, let alone a boxing one.. so what does 'the man' do in response? how does he prove he's 'a good bloke'? how does he prove he is 'the bradman of boxing' ? or should he even try? will he try to be good guy? or great fighter? the answer is, he wont try to be 'a good guy'.....he will want to shut the haters up, and prove his big mouth was right all along. its much easier........its easier to try and beat a good fighter, than to change himself into a decent person, a person australia will like and respect. mundine will try and shut US all up.....SHUT THE AUSTRALIAN PUBLIC UP. the point to all this is mundine is suffering. taylor proved it at a press conference. the crowd at a charity bash, confirmed what taylor had said.....'little old ladies hate you...' .....everyone hates you.. mundines reaction is going to be fight a good fighter...........SOON. he has to. in his own mind he has to. to restore his own confidence, his own sence of pride, he has too. to be able to face sledgers as press conferences he has to. he loves the limellight, and he was made to look bad in front of the media by taylor.....thats gunna irk him... so mundine must gain his self respect....and he believes his bragging rights. he believes that its better to shut the australian public up with a big win, than to shut his big mouth, and change his attitude.....that is his pride coming out.... so look for mundine to announce a big fight soon..... 'pride before a fall' , anthony..... .
He was there for charity...I dont have a problem with people booing him, he is not well liked and he knows exactly why (and its not because of his race). But I mean come on, was that really necessary.
One thing that I did notice in the press conference for the Taylor fight - when Mundine started off on his spiel about how he was going to do this and that to Taylor for saying this and that, and Taylor asked him "What have I been saying?" Mundine was lost for words...first time I've ever seen him stopped in his tracks with such a simple confrontation.
wow. pecks knows two words..... of course, mentally challenged losers like pecks dont see that mundine is getting cornered. its starting to affect his personal image of himself. the important thing about that is, mundine is image driven. its like the time the fonz lost his 'cool'......remember? he clicked his fingers and the girls wouldnt rush to him. so he had to do something to restore his image....he jumped garbage cans in al's diners carpark, on his motorbike. mundine needs to do something drastic, real soon. we know that. but mundine is just realising it. and ive realised he's realised it. .
Sally.....Mundine is a great bloke away from the business.....he does loads of charity work that wont get into the paper.....spends lots of time with young kids....what do you do sally....how much charity work? Start some threads on other fighters this hate has gone on long enough......you will find if you start threads on VIC and Rocky and stop bagging Mundine you will be a happy chappy.....instead of a bitter old man.
pride before a fall...... we shall see , assley.. assley. mundine chose his public image...it is the image the public see....you understand? what he is in private is incosequential, as the public hate what anthony mundine shows them......in public!!!! and its getting to him. you just watch, nuthugger.
It gets to him bad.....all these people buying his PPV's and tickets...he knows what he is doing.....its all an act.....every last polarizing word....oh and very funny you must be in school
Yap yap yap. You're the most boring **** on here. I'm sure the whole forum is in awe of your marvellous piece of detective work. You've really nailed this one Sally. How about you use your detective skills and try and find out how much speed and coke was inserted into your fathers sperm when he knocked your mother up 2 months prior to when you were born. I say 2 months because your posts reek of someone who was born at least 7 months premature. Heres my take... theres nothing more to this than meets the eye. Mundine will continue to fight meaningless fights until he gets a shot at Sturm. No Pavlik fight, no Bika even, just dead beat after dead beat until a title shot awaits him, or until he fights Green. When Mundine gets backed into a corner, he wont fight his way out of it, he'll simply turn the other way and paint a different picture of it and try and sell it to the public.
As much as I dislike Mundine's public persona, I don't fall for it, and others I know who have met him say he's a decent guy, the rest of the carry on he does is to generate publicity which has also been managed into dollars for him. He doesn't want the cameras around when he;s acutally being a decent bloke becasue it will undermine his public image. He's not that egotistic, he's made plenty and is more than satified. If he really cared he would have fought much better opposition by now and fulfilled his potential, which I doubt he will ever do, it just too late. He never should have lost to Siaca (cuz of his ability, not his performance) and should have stepped up after the Kessler loss . . . . Good luck to him, out of the ring anyway,I don't support the way he's chosen to do things but it's not up to me.
hey pekker .. at least i know who my dad is....:deal wow. imagine the reaearch it would take to work out yours???!! .
I think there's a little bit of truth to the topic. I think in 5yrs when he's retired he might ask for the public's forgiveness over his antics spanning some 15yrs or so. Even though it's all a show when he is still playing sport, deep down no one likes to be a public hate figure.
