If pavlik beats AA then will he get the credit he deserves?

Credit? Prior to Hopkins he was the holiest of holies in this forum... not much has changed, most people are waiting for him to get fully back on track.

Some are thinking he's a little one dimensional because he got totally schooled by Hopkins. Those people need to remember who "Hopkins" is and take Pavlik for what he is... a good fighter who got blocked by a great fighter on a road to his own greatness.

 

Thing is, Arthur will shock the American crowd, you will not believe your eyes when Arthur has him out cold.

I have a ton of respect for Pavlik, but I think Arthur is a hidden gem in boxing.. he's a beast.

 

I think he will get a lot of well-deserved credit , especially if he is to be the first one to stop AA. But there are a lot of Pavlik haters out there simply because he is American, and no matter he does they will refuse to ever give him the credit he deserves.

Same thing happens with many ignorant American fans, they refuse to give Calzaghe or other Euro fighters deserved credit ... it goes both ways, its just really dumb that Boxing fans on this site are so nationalistic rather than coming together as just boxing fans.

 

I wish this would happen though I disagree with you about AA being a gem.Pavlik needs to face some proper competiton at 160 or he will start losing credit.Since fighting JT at 160 hes fought Lockett and Rubio.I want to see in with Sturm or AA next not another LMW in Mora or Duddy

 

Sturm is running SCARED from Arthur, EVERYONE in Europe knows Sturm is afraid of Arthur.

I think you will get my point when Arthur goes overseas to fight Pavlik.

 

I don't want Arthur vs Sturm.I want to see Pavlik with either one of those,preferably AA.I hope I see your point I really do.I don't hate KP but think he is overrated by some even after the loss to Bernard.
Wouldn't expect either of those to go to USA to fight Pavlik,unless you know something different?Can't blame them when you think Sturm got robbed when he went there to fight Oscar

 

i would give him credit...problem is after he beats AA, would PW be willing to face him?

 

he get alot of credit he's 26 he's still young. it's just th haaters. im on the fence about how he would fair against AA. but i hope that the fight gets made

I'll post an opinion and some facts, and I will state which is which.

In my opinion Pavlik/Abraham will never happen. I've only recently developed that opinion, and it is based on my assesment of a few facts.

Fact: Arthur currentlly makes around $700K per fight. For a Pavlik fight he wants the kind of money that Hopkins and Taylor got. That's a HUGE problem, because outside of Germany no one other than a few hardcore boxing fans scattered around the globe even know who he is.

Fact: When AA had the chance to fight Winky Wright, Sauerland offered him $1.5 million. They did that knowing full well that Winky turned $2.4 million and a cut of the PPV revenue for a Pavik fight just a few months earlier.

Fact: Zuniga vacated his IBO SMW title for a shot at Arthur. Miranda is the only guy AA has fought who can crack. The fight would have made perfect sense. If AA won, he'd have two of Pavlik's toughest opponents on his record. In the end Sauerland stabbed Zuniga in the back, and gave the fight to Elvin Ayala.

Fact: Next month Abraham will make a VOLUNTARY defense against LuJaun Simon. This guys last opponent was Jose' Spearman. Bronco McKart used Spearman for a tune up after Bronco was off for nearly 2 years.

The facts add up, and the math ain't that hard. Pavlik/Abraham will never happen.

Fact: If I'm wrong and the fight does happen, well . . . . Abraham spends a huge portion of nearly every fight laying on the ropes, or hiding in a corner. That's where Pavlik's victims go to die.

 

FALSE.

Abraham has good lateral movement, he has a turtle shell defense which is hard to break (ask anyone who fought Ottke or Wright).. and on top of that he's a VERY good counterpuncher.

This spells big trouble for Pavlik, I bet the youngstown folks will be cheering when the abrupt ending comes and Pavlik is unconscious on the canvas.

I think Abraham will counter him with a hell of a left hook.

 

I recently watched 3 of Arthur's fights back to back. Based on what I saw with my own eyes, and Arthur's past level of competition, there is no reason to believe any of your post. And please do not compare AA to Winky Wright. Winky would embarrass arthur 118-110.

 

Edison Miranda is a bigger puncher than Kelly Pavlik and he didn't even come close to cracking that defense in the rematch.

Winky has a much better chance of beating Abraham than Kelly Pavlik, yes.. I agree with you.

 

I could never see Pavlik becoming one of the greats after I saw him being bullied and humiliated by an old man. The image of him looking scared like a skinny little nerd at school is now very hard to remove in my mind. Plus his comeback doesnt show much of an improvement either. (unlike Cottos). He will be koed by Abraham, guaranteed.
