This was mentioned in today's papers. I presume it would be a catchweight or welter contest. Would be fascinating.

I'd rather see hatton v cotto than cotto v pacquaio.

Cotto-Hatton at light welter wouldn't hav been too bad. At Welter Hatton loses too many of is big attributes.

Cotto did more in his early career than Hatton did in the same amount of fights. Its abundantly clear who is the better talent thus argueing 7lbs is pretty pointless. I don't see these fabled attributes at 140. Iv never seen it and i still don't see it. The facts remain as Hattons competition has got better his performances have got worst. Against Cotto he gets annihilated inside of 5 rounds and id bet my house on that.

I doubt he can do a better job than Jennings did.

At light welter his size and strength are factors when weighing up the outcome of any fight. Cotto's workrate is generally very low. At light Welter i'd give Hatton a 35% chance of victory up at Welter 10% or less.

im not the biggest hatton fan,i do like him, cotto, i like him to,but i think im the only one on the BF who thinks he is a bit over rated.
i think if jenningd had more of a punch he would of lasted a lot longer, not beaten him,not enough talent, but lasted longer.
don't get me wrong he is good, but so is hatton,so im going for a late hatton stoppage (catchweight)
i think hatton is better than margo, more head movement, better body punching, and no matter what anyone says,he can take a punch(1 ko loss to the best fighter on the planet,in how many fights?)i know all you hatton haters will call me,but this is my opinon,so bring it on

Hatton late stoppage? Lay off the crack.

Cotto will destroy him at 147lbs. The only way Hatton has any chance is for Cotto to be severely weakened, which is why people always want it at 140 or a catchweight.

Dont understand any of that logic. When Cotto was at 140 Hatton talked about the fight but it never got made. Arum would have taken it in a flash. Ricky/Warren of course didn't want it. I mean why would he when he was making millions at the M.E.N. 140 used to be a stacked division around 7-8 years ago. Hatton didn't fight ANY of the contenders apart from Kostya who had one foot in retirement. He`s been living off the win ever since. Warren and Ricky were magnificent in guiding such a weak career for the most reward with the least amount of risk.

Everyone that was worth there salt Ricky avoided. All GREAT fighters have moved up the ranks to take on bigger challenges and all we ever hear is the tired mantra that Ricky is a beast at 140? Vs who exactly? This man is such a beast blows up to as much as 190 in between fights and yet cant take his fabled style to 147 vs a fringe contender and this is the summarization of it all?? Seriously thats more than laughable.

The fact of the matter are Cotto is the better fighter. Slow starter or not its immaterial. They have entirely different styles. Hatton simply doesn't have the style nor the skills to deal with elite fighters. This will be punctuated further when Pac-Man takes him to school.

Hatton Margo isnt even worth considering. I mean not taking into account the immense size diffrence look at there styles. Whats Hatton going to do exactly? Get on his toes and box circles around him? Margo would walk him down and have him out of there faster than he did Cintron.
