Not one division is ruled by an American. This is a disgrace to the country and the sport.

It is hard to find an American in the top 15 of the heavyweight rankings. Only Arreola can be mentioned as a possible top 10 heavy. Awful news for the sports flagship division. Especially when you consider that Arreola is just a fat kid with an ok punch.

No American cruiserwight can be considered a threat. The division is weak but jeez embarrassing for the USA.

The light heavy division is pathetic now Calzaghe has retired. Just washed up bums or no name juorneymen who nobody cares about. The entire division should be retireded until a decent fighter arrives on the scene.

Obviously Kessler is the top fighter here followed by Bute and possibly Froch. Taylor is a joke nowdays.

Middle once was so hot for the sport and America but apart from King Arthur the division looks poor. Can not say that Pavlik is a threat or ever impressive. The only other American in the division of note is Duddy and he is Irish...and poor.

Light Middle. Who cares. Just old guys or fighters not good enough for Welter or a move up to middle.

Welter. Ok Mosley is good but Cotto hands him his ass all day. Berto? Meh.

    140. The division for guys too fat to make lightweight and not good enough to beat welters. I guess you can put the almost great PacMan in there and you will need to do some real searching before finding a good American.

Lightweight. Marquez or Valero are top but no guys from the USA in sight.

And not one stand out American fighter in any of the lower divisions.

    A real shame.

Dawson, Bradly, Pavlik, berto are good fighters.

Mayweather will come back and Hopkins is still one of the best fighters p4p.

If there were Americans at lower weights... It would probably the guys aging 15-18yrs old to compete.

Seriously Americans are huge in size... So my best is that the lower they can do IMO is Jr Welterweight.

Maybe we should blame Mcdonald and Burger King?

It's true American boxing is on the decline though isn't it. I mean just look at the amateurs. How many golds did they pick up at the last Olympics? They used to dominate. I'm not saying American boxing is ruined, or it'll never be as great as it was again, it's just going through a rough patch though.

Wasn't Steve Cunningham the Rings #1 Cruiserweight before losing to Adamek??? And isn't he still the #1 contender behind only Adamek who he lost to in a CLOSE fight??

Oh and isn't an undefeated American fighting Adamek for the title this Saturday??:huh

Also solid prospect/ contenders in BJ Flores and Matt Godfrey.

So the division was great while Calzaghe was the champ and now sucks because he retired???:rofl

No Duddy is Irish from IRELAND!!!!!!! And Pavlik IS THE CHAMPION douche bag.:tong

    Paul Williams *****.:smoke

Like he "handed him his ass" the first time they fought?? When Cotto was running for the hills the last few rounds.

Tim Bradley, Kendall Holt, Paulie Malignaggi, Victor Ortiz, Devon Alexander, Mike Alvarado, Lamont Peterson and now Nate Campbell. Damn where are all those Americans.:patsch

Juan Diaz:huhEver heard of the guy??

And Valero has yet to have a fight at the weight so not sure how he's on top of a division he's never fought at.

Is it so important that every good boxer you like come from your country? I'm not from Panama, but have enjoyed a couple of decades of Roberto Duran. If he was born next door, I don't think I'd have enjoyed him better. Mayweather is from the USA, and I wouldn't walk across the street to see him. Bobby Czyz is a homeboy of mine, but if he never existed , I couldn't have cared less. Boxing in the USA is declining only in comparison to the countrys utter dominance for the last hundred years. If someone would only come along and make the Heavyweights interesting again, I wouldn't care if he was from Mongolia, Scotland, or The Sahara desert.

Cuba always dominated the amateur ranks. And America fell off when they changed the scoring system.

Most of the good American amateurs have styles built for the pros like Danny Jacobs. Couldn't get the the olympics but he KO any of the fighters that beat him in the amas.

How many GREAT amateurs make great pros as of late??
