Kelly Pavlik vs Winky Wright at 160

I picked Pav to a wide UD. I think Winky has grown "long in the tooth" over the last 18 months. Even a prime Winky would have a hard time keeping Pav off of him due to his lack of power.

 

That is the key. Go a few posts up. By Pavlik's count Lockett hit him once and Rubio hit him twice. On that meter, could Winky EVER hit him? :think

 

Exactly. Winky has NEVER been a very powerful guy. Power is one of his lacking assets, he's just fortunate to be so good skillfully that he doesn't need decent lots of power to do damage or hurt his opponents. But especially right now, Winky fighting a guy like Pavlik, who will not respect Winky's power at all, :bart all bad for Winky.

 

Whether it's Williams or Pavik that does the job, Winky is going to go out on his shield, like a warrior should. Write that down:deal

 

Pavlik will not respect Winky's power at all & believes in his great chin, he will just walk Winky down. Winky can't risk to trade with Pav & leave himself open because he'll risk the chance of being caught with a monsterous punch. Even Kelly's jabs are enough to hurt you. Winky has great defense, but he's not going to block all of Winky's punches. The difference between Winky vs Tito & Winky vs Pav is the Tito was past his prime, Pavlik is in his prime.

 

Notice Pavlik worked on the left hook to the body and head. Even doubling it up? Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was only Rubio. But Pavlik had NOTHING NEW in that fight did he. But, let's see what he does against Paul Williams. Rest or rust?

 

I think the winner of Winky/Williams is better than Abraham. Ideally Pavlik would fight A.A. next and that winner fights the winner of Winky/Williams

 

What he fails to realize is Pavlik at 160 is better than Tito at 160. He's a bigger guy with more strength & power, & he can take shots better than Tito could at 160. Pavlik is a big problem for Winky.

 

Winky Williams. I like the sound of that better than Paul "The Punisher" Williams. Let's make it so! Walk Without Me would have a cow.

 

Winky Williams-- it might be just a bit too intimidating (it's scary to even type out the letters)--it's borderline cheating and certainly is an unfair advantage....
