I still enjoyed being there. I was too far away to hear a lot of the impacts because the crowd was never 'hushed'. Fight did look closer in person. Like I have said before, I'm an educational slut. I'll learn just about any thing. Problem with the boxing world is the way trainers get a percentage of the purse. Also, you can't go out between fights and just pick up training from a top guy because he may have a fighter facing you some day.

I had the pleasure of watching a coach turn someone into a world class talent in another field. When you think about the 'chance' of the right two people coming together it is mind numbingly small. The field I watched it happen in was dance/ballet. This girl went on to be one of the best in the world and danced for the crowned heads of Europe. You know how hard and unlikely that was to happen to someone from Youngstown, Ohio? Throw in black in the early 70's. Jack and Kelly had it a little easier because Youngstown has more of boxing background than a dance background, but still, when it happens, it is nothing short of remarkable and it is something that is hard to realize unless you have seen it happen.

Right on...you know, I am clamouring for this fight for a while now and definately wanna be ringside - plus a trip to the US would be a bonus as I like to travel but until now couldn't afford such a ride overseas. So I have begun to save money to make it over there when it comes off. It would really hurt my feelings this fight not to come off... :|

I'm not dissing Jack Leow at all, but when I saw Diaz with Cotto, I had some concerns. I just didn't care for his absence. Obviously there was nothing to worry about. But damn; It's Jack, Miguel, and Kelly. Not Jack, Kelly, and ????:bbb

C level? What drugs are you on? I frequently repeat myself when I say that JT is the only fighter which should be seen as "better" or "tougher". I would even say that AA has fought the better competition if we exclude JT from Pavlik's bouts.

It's nice to see that Pavlik's fanboys have lost one's grip on reality. :hey

In the end I have to thank Boo for all the nice posts :thumbsup You bring life to this forum.

Your slogan seems to be "If they don't fight in the US, they can't be good" :patsch

Well, math isn't a strong suit of most posters here. Pavlik is usually considered B- . So the way he beat the **** out of Miranda, Miranda has to be C- . Miranda busted AA up and had him running to a home town type decision in Germany. But Miranda was suddenly a solid B/B+ when AA beat him POST Pavlik beat down? :huh Miranda would most certainly have a field day with a lot of the guys on AA's resume. Same for Pavlik's. If you leave out Bhop/Taylor I guess.

Listen, I like AA alot and think a potential fight between the two of them is a tossup, but to say AA has fought the better competition is laughable. Can you imagine what people would be saying if Kelly was scheduled to fight Lajuan Simon? In some organizations/media outlets, he's not even top 40 in the world at MW. I can see it now, Kelly calling out Lajuan Simon at the press conference after the Rubio fight. At least in Rubio he fought someone in the top 40. Hopkins and JT are both head and shoulders above anyone AA has fought.

Yeah, B-Hop and Taylor make the difference. For the rest, both are on par and I know both sides of the pond and there isn't much difference from the level of competition at 160 - but a lot of people posting here are mope-eyed to see this.
Only difference is the elite and Europeans lack to secure those fights most of the time...it's b/c of contractual obligations, money and politics... :verysad

Zuniga would spark everybody on Arthur's resume, including Miranda.

I didn't mention Hopkins, because Pav didn't fight him at middleweight.

Gevor, Eastman, Ikeke, Elcock - all of these guys were quality opponents

I'm not saying they weren't quality opponents, I just think Pavlik has fought the better opposition. I'm actually pretty disappointed in the selection of Lajuan Simon as AA's next opponent. I was really hoping he'd fight someone in the top ten. That fight makes no sense to me.

No way...Miranda would spark him. Miranda is underrated...something that happens all the time here on eastsideboxing after a hyped fighter lost to a quality opponent.
