Funny story about Miranda. At the press conference after the fight, someone asked Kelly if Rubio hit as hard as Miranda, or something to that effect. Kelly laughed and said, no, no way. When Miranda hits you, you feel it. Trust me, you feel it.

100% agreed...I have no idea why AA's management picked Simon.

On the other hand: I also have no idea who would like to fight him (and I'm talking about the current situation, the present - not the past).

Well, I'll admit to you, but this isn't for common consumption so don't spread it around, Pavlik said Abraham is a risk/reward problem right now. OK, it was at the press conference and in the local paper, so it isn't exactly secret knowledge, but I also do not have the full context which is why I hate to throw it out there. I'll just take it that there isn't enough money in the pot for both fighters at this point. Arum said the Sturm people are being "more reasonable" in their demands right now and that is more likely for the end of the year. But, that is the business end of it.

To say the Sturm thing is is baffling would be a mild understatement since we know what he turned down from AA. I don't see him making NEAR that money here.

We always seem to get into a debate over AA's resume. AA fans need to admit that AA's resume is bad, and KP's is better.

This could be the weight issues rearing its ugly head already. Little doubt in my mind that the Marquez fight was delayed because of it. I don't by the overnight flu thing. He may need someone that won't threaten him if he has weight problems again? I don't know. Just a guess.

Same reason they stabbed Zuniga in the back and gave the spring '08 fight to Ayala. It's called protecting your interests.

Ayala REALLY blew my mind. He's not some unheard of therefore can't comment type fighter to me. I know him, who he's fought and where he did it. I saw a post early in this thread that wanted to know how Mora could be considered...because he fought to a draw with Ayala. That poster conveniently left out that Ayala got his shot at AA off of that very fight.:yep

I know I beat that dead horse like it'll still run, but it mother****ing pisses me off that the **** Sauerland totally ass ****ed Zuniga AFTER he vacated his IBO SMW title for a shot. I'm upset about it. Get the point:yep

Really hard having a conversation with that kind of noise going on. Rubio only had one fight and got KTFO. Just look at what you have to leave out of that statement to make it look good. TomT can be brutally objective sometimes. Bigbone has a little harder time, but not bad.

Yep. And the lame excuse that since one guy pulled out of the eliminator the remaining guy didn't deserve the shot! They don't even have an appropriate little smiley for that. Let's see. You have an eliminator scheduled. One guy pulls out and is thus ELIMINATED.... OH GOOD LORD! How easy does this get. People aren't even trying to have a rational discussion, and once the pull us into it, we are the biased ones.

I think what bothers me is that I have acknowledged many times that KP does not yet have a stellar resume'. It's good for a 26 year old, but it's got a ways to go. From fall '05 thru fall '08 he fought every fighter who would get in front of him, chased a fight with Winky, and chased hard after a fight with Calzaghe. Sauerland low balled Winky, swerved Zuniga, and I believe it is on record that they turned down a fight with Jermain. (not 100% sure on that one.) Now a guy who makes $700K a fight, and is virutally unknown outside Germany, wants a multi million dollar pay day to fight Pavlik, but KP is the one who gets accused of ducking.

Good win for the Ghost good to see him back in action.. I'm now ready to see him take on Abraham or the Winky/Williams winner.

I'll have to play with the software and see what some of the functions are. I really hate to use the ignore list. We all get off base sometimes. I'll have to see what, if anything, the friends list is. I'd like a setting that alerts me when certain posters comment. I just don't have the time for most of this stuff and I'm unemployed at the moment! I've got to get more selective and let most of this stuff slide. Maybe make good on my "website threat". Take a knowledgable poster from both sides and limit the debate to just them. That would give me HOURS of my day back.

Hmmm... I wonder if they could do 'expert' or 'all star' threads here? It isn't hard to figure out who has the boxing knowledge. I don't give a XXXX about most of the fight politics. EVERY ONE was convinced they had the answer to the Pac/Hatton stand off. I'm sure their managers solved it with posts here.....

Would you still want KP to fight the Winky/Williiams winner if it's Paul? If it's Winky, then Pavlik/Wright MUST happen. I think you know the history.

If it's Williams, in my opinion, it just means Winky really is shot.
