If Tucker made Douglas quit, Holmes would do the same only quicker. I think Larry would stop Buster in about 5.

I'm still pissed off about Buster and that 246 pounds of goo he dragged into the ring against Holy in Oct. of '90...... I fully expected Buster to maintain the eye of the tiger and come into that fight in tip-top shape at a reasonable 230 to 235 pounds... WTF was up with that 246 pounds??? I'm guessing that Buster Douglas was already counting that 18 million dollar paycheck before he ever got his paws on it... That pisses me off....

THAT wasn't the best of Douglas. The best of Douglas came in 1990, not 1987.

Good point. That and the uppercut thrown from the outside.

Some people flounder when they meet up with success.

I have to say Larry as the winner, but one his finest night i would never overlook the very skilled and quality Jabbing Douglas to give Holmes a lot of problems en route to a victory.. Douglas was a very good fighter and was in many ways a mirror of some of Larrys traits, Heavy jab, good head movement, heavyhanded masterful professer at what he did, James's one bad trait was his lack of commitment to always staying in fine tuned condition.. Skills... very even to be truthful, Larry just came up a harder route and it showed in his toughets fights... If Douglas did his road work a bit more vogorously he could have been a 2 time heavyweight champ, he had Tucker in the bag when he turned up the heat.. conditioning hurt him and he stopped punching so the referee gave the stoppage to Tucker...

With the proper mindset douglas gives holmes pure hell. Larry didn't like jabbers and douglas had an excellent one. It would be a tough fight, not too exciting though because they were boxers. I would give it to holmes by decision because of superior defence and ring generalship.
