Of course most of us are not Doctors but this was turning into a great fight. He hurt Casamayor in the last round. Would you have given him another round and let him go for the kayo? Or was it legit and a good call by the Doc?

Should have let the dude continue, and it was already a great fight. Could have gone on to be one of the best ever though. Casamayor was opening up a lot that night.

good call.. that was bad.. if the bleeding is coming from the external surface from which the corner could work on, it shouldn't be stopped. but hey, he was bleeding PROFUSELY inside the mouth. the warrior that corrales is, he still human.

PS: when diego is hurt, it is where he is more dangerous.

Yeah it was a great fight. There was lots of action, both fighters were down and hurt.

I'm more of a blood thirsty fan so I would have let him for another round, but I have no problem with the stoppage.

I am not sure I would have stopped it, but Corrales wasn't looking like he'd be tagging Casamayor much and the latter looked like he could tag Corrales almost at will...so I can see why it was a good decision to stop it.

Can the Doctor overrule the ref when it comes to stopping a fight in between rounds?

Depends on where the fight takes place.

usually only the ref can stop the fight. but it would be conscience-bearing to go against the advice of a ringside physician (albeit for entertainment purposes)

I'm shocked they didn't let him keep fighting though. He was practically begging them to let him continue. No suprise from Corrales though, he was all blood and guts.

yeah that's what i love from the great chico corrales. and before, i thought the only incident when he was hurt and then he hurt his opponent was in the castillo I. now that i've seen this, wow, he was hurt then he hurt casa.
