I think Paulie gets slated a bit much, I like him he's a character and although he's got **** all power he's good to watch when he's on form, I re-watched his fight with Cotto the other day, he was a warrior there. Looks like everyones queueing to knock down Frankie Gavin already, to be fair it seems like he's a bit of a dick, but he's a young lad hopefully he'll mature.
Some of the critical comments on here are absolutely priceless...the lad hasn't even stepped through the ropes yet and he is getting slated, unbelieveable. I agree about Paulie, if Gavins career matches the New Yorkers he should be very pleased with himself...power isn't everything.
geezers a prat ....clip on you tube where hes trowing a bucket of water over a tramp ...just to get a laugh out of his mates .i don't know who's worst frankie or the other chav degale what a tit.
****in' hell eh, us Brits love to get behind our fighters. People are writing him off before he even starts. So what, he threw water on a tramp, who the **** likes tramps anyway?
I'll just leave it at that mate. It's a bit personal, i'd feel a **** if i spoke about this particular reason why he hit him.
funny all the stories about him, seems abit of a character to me, least boxing might get in the news with him even if it is bad press "bad press is good news" ha ha, my mate spar's with him and says he's the most technical fighter he's ever sparred with and its alot harder to spar with than khan was...
The thing that worries me is that he seems to be a pretty thick guy outside of the ring. A quote from Barry McGuigan sticks in my mind when he said that all great fighters need a certain intelligence if they're really gonna hit the heights. Of course there are exceptions but if you look at the recent crop of elite British fighters (Lewis, Calzaghe, Hatton, Haye, Froch etc) this would appear to ring true.
are you talking about nathan cleverly, he hasnt even been tested despite being in with some decent names, dean francis obviously doesnt want anything to do with him
