    Jones
    Hopkins
    Toney
If you were to ask me to rank on skillset only it would be the opposite toney was unbelievably skilled and IMO the best of the three in that category but resume he's lacking

Now back to the original post for me jones just edges it only on his top wins because for me hopkins resume has more depth but il take jones top wins over hopkins top wins plus the H2H win over hopkins just tips it in his favour

Close one, I guess a point can be made for each of the three depending on what factors you deem most important. I voted James Toney but I don't have enough time to explain now, I'll try to do it tomorrow.

I believe he is definitely in their league in terms of resume, very much in the mix in this one. His mw/smw resume 1991-94 is superb, his wins over Nunn, McCallum and Jirov are particularly brilliant. Add those to wins over a raft of solid comp like past-prime Holyfield, Reggie Johnson, Merqui Sosa, Iran Barkley, Doug DeWitt, Tim Littles, Prince Charles Williams, cruiserweight Jason Robinson, and Brooker and Guinn at heavy, and you have a severe contender here.

Hopkins.. Roy Jones is the more talented but Hopkins resume is superior for me.

RJJ and it isn't even close, Wins over Bhops, Toney, Hill, Tarver, Griffen, McCallum, Ruiz, Tito and beating 17 world champs makes him # 1 IMO.

RJJ, not only did he fight good competition, but also he beat the guys who are in this poll. That must count for something? Everyone Jones fought (minus the washed up Jones and minus vinnie paz, who earned his title shot against Jones at SMW) was bigger than him. Jones began his career at JR MIDDLE and everyone he fought was bigger than him, naturally (except Paz and the washed up Trinidad).

And Toney's resume is underrated by a lot of newbs here, imo. His resume is wonderful.

Hops resume is legend too. However the guys he beat in his prime that gives him his boast in resume was smaller than he, natural WW's. But he has fought some good middles. His destruction of Tarver and Pavlik are the things of legends though.
