I ask because I’m hearing a lot of talk about Cotto fighting Clottey, Cintron, Berto and even Pacquiao/Hatton winner and how those fights would possibly play out...but what about Mosley? He’s THE welterweight champ. The only time he’s brought up is for people to talk about a possible Mosley-Cotto rematch, and though I’d like to see that fight myself, I’d also like to see Mosley vs. Clottey.

So, in your opinions, who wins?

clottey's a hard hitter but hes not going to cut it against guys like mosley.

guys like mosley are his nemesis.

This is a bad stylistic match up for Shane. Clottey is a come forward defensive minded fighter much like Winky. He also is a big welter and these are the ingredients to nullify Shane's attack. I think Clottey would frustrate Shane for 12 rounds with his counter left hook and tight guard.

Clottey would certainly frustrate Shane with his turtle shell defense, and I think he would have his moments, but in the end, Shane would figure him out and win just enough rounds to scrape by with a unanimous points win.

This could be one of those fights where the guy landing all of the crowd pleasing punches starts looking very, very run down come the last third. I'm going to say Shane by SD because he's been through wars, and because his name and his pedigree would get him the nod in close rounds.

But damn would Clottey's jab give him problems.

I'd be shocked if Shane could pull this off even more so than his win over Margarito. I recently rewatched Mosley-Winky1 and some of the rematch and if those 2 fought 100 times Winky would win them all. Clottey would present essentially the same challenges to Shane that Winky did. Clottey doesn't have the jab the Winky does but he would still be able to walk him down and counter all night long. I also don't see Shane figuring out Clottey's defense. I was completely lost against Winky and I would expect the same against Clottey.

i agree mosley was disheartened and lost against winky - and he was.

but clottey hasn't shown he's got the same quality against top flight opposition.

sure he looks good - and i love to watch him fight - but it's way too premature to compare him with fighters he hasn't proved his class against in any way.

Great fight!! I like Mosley because he has the handspeed and because he can not only "box" but he can "fight" too... Clottey is strong and puts pressure on his opponents..Mosley can handle pressure..Mosley in a tough 12 round fight 115-113 across the board!!

in my opinion moesly would edge out a UD against clottey. clottey is a very good fighter that doesnt get the credit he deserves but still not at the same level as shane. too much of a lot, boxing skills, speed, experience, pedigree, wars, comebacks, challenges. mostly is a complete package at this time it will be hard 4 anyone to beat. the only one i can see beatin moesly is cotto again by sd or ud. but this is after a couple of fights for cotto. cotto is a good fighter but he will not beat shane even with his almost identical winky defense. he aint winky thats a true defense master. i see clottey to defensive in the fight and moesley outworking, outlanding and outclassing clottey.
