now you guys are calling cotto vs margarito a bad showing on cotto's part?

yall cant be goddamn serious.... the first 6 rounds were the best first 6 roudns of cotto's career.... cotto was just a victim of margarito's style.... which is similar to paul wiliams style except hes taller faster & longer

margarito chewed up pauls body until the point in the mid rounds... 9th or 10th i think but i havent watched the fight for a while.... where paul froze up because he got hit with a crazy shot... but paul is rugged & durrable... the margarito fight & the fact that he's never been down or in trouble is enough evidence of that in itself

I honestly dont understand people's bull**** when they say he's overrated.

He beat Judah, Quintana, and Mosley...

All other WW haven't had the near success that Cotto has...all short of Margarito. But now that guy's wins are in question.

Sure he takes a couple of easy fights or tune-ups...but so does everyone.

Especially Paul Williams. Sure he hasn't found a legitimate opponent that is willing to fight him, but when he did he had to fight him twice! What elite fighter do you know that slacks off like that...or needs two fights to prove a point?! He KO's two tomato cans and all of a sudden he's a monster?! It's about as ridiculous as Cotto fans saying he's back and mentally stronger etc. etc.

Hence my uneasiness about Cotto. What I did notice was Cotto started body attacking again. Something he neglected in the past few fights as well as a new found urgency to defend against the right hand. Evangelista said in the Jennings fight "Good job Miguel...watch out for the right hand" If he truly learned nothing and didnt pick up on ****, he would've just said Kill him Cotto...mother ****er has no pop...just end this douche. Similar to what he did with Gomez. Cotto took many stupid shots from Gomez because he felt invincible, but with Jennings I saw a new found tenative offense. Very studied and very meticulous. And finished him in the same amount of time without taking or throwing as many shots.

This is why I said I want to see how PW does against Winky. This will be his FIRST real test. And if he passes with flying colors, I think PW beats Cotto hands down. If Cotto walks straight through Clottey like many DONT expect him to do, then Cotto walks through PW hands down. If they both do phenomenal, then it'll be a pickem fight. If both barely get by, the edge is in favor of Williams but not by much. Depends on how each fight plays out. I think your problem is listening to too many people like Fitzgerald (who knows jack **** except for FMJ) and WWM...Honestly, how many people thought Mosley was gonna go down against Margarito?! How many people thought he would only win by UD?!...This would be a very interesting bout if it were to ever occur but sadly I think it'll only happen once and IF Miguel is unified champ and leaves Top Rank.

    How???

Ppl were going around saying he forced PBF to retire.
Ppl were even saying he has an iron chin.
Before ESB deleted some of the old stuff, there was a thread of Cotto vs Tito at 147, and Cotto had more votes.

People get too excited after a fighter wins in a big fight.
Margarito after beating Cotto was seen as the second coming of Jesus.

"That hes a monster" that he will walk down anybody" "He would beat Hearns" etc. Then Mosley makes his famous chin look like mashed potatoes and people say Margarito who?

Pacquiao beats DLH and many people think he can beat the top welters. its just the energy the people have after their fighter wins.

For example recently that Mosley beat Margo, Now he is the master of the welters and will KO every top welter and beat Cotto by KO in 6 while Cotto beat him close but clear just over a year ago.

I like Cotto fight and i always root for him but i know he has flaws.
(Like hes prone to the uppercut and gets tagged with the right hand more than he should)
But to say PW blows him out of the water in 4 or 5 like some say is nonsense.

All that energy after a fighter wins = OVERRATED/OVERHYPED!
After Pavlik beat Lockett, Pavlik fans were going crazy.

But the reason I say PW beats Cotto easily is because Cotto's chin isn't good and PW is a nightmare for anyone at 147 or 154. PW unches hard and would definetely catch Cotto with something.

Cottos chin cant be that bad if he took so many flush shots from Margo and still kept going. it took Margo 11 rounds to stop him. I know it aint granite but Cotto does not have a bad chin (Cue Chinno Spadafora).

He took Mosleys shots well too.

Im pretty sure he could take PW shots too.
