That looked like a real clubbing punch, sent him flying.

Yeah, that's as brutal a right hand as you can see.

Last two days i've posted two Archie videos, one showing a sneaky, almost unspottable KO punch, and now this bludgeoning shot that Sonny Liston would have been proud off. Moore was some puncher and he had the variety.

He was the greatest champion at 175lbs and would have beaten a lot of Heavy's throughout the ages and he already had 140 fights or so......He had fast hands and power and a great defense. and ring brains..If James Toney can hold his own with the big guys today...Moore would have been a Mongoose and upset a lot of them

Moore is completely under-rated as a heavyweight. Outside of his losses to Ali, Marciano and Patterson, there wasnt really a contender out there who was able to thwart him.

Some excellent footage of Moore has been posted recently by the same guy. His 5th fight with Jimmy Bivins (parts of it) and his fight with Oakland Billy Smith as well.

Yeah, I kicked up the Bivins fight to the forum yesterday.

Pea, what did you make of the KO in that fight? If you can be arsed digging it up, that's what the thread is basically about.

Did you watch the Smith fight? What did you think of Billy? That's the only footage i've seen aside from Burley.

Davidson really dropped like a brick! That right hand was straight, fast, accurate, and looked to have just about all the leverage Moore's frame could muster on it.

I thought Moore looked fantastic against Davidson, both offensively and defensively. Excellent poise, control, and timing. Obviously the power to go along with it just extrapolated his abilities that much more.

I haven't seen the Smith fight in full. I have issues watching that length of footage being shot at that angle. It's really off-putting and I don't feel I catch all the nuances of the fighter's games, so I rarely bother. I'll probably do so eventually, though.

I understand, but for me getting a handle on Smith will be a help getting a further handle on Burley. I'd be interested to hear any thoughts you might have.

    Anyone else, to, of course.

I actually thought Smith looked well enough in the Burley fight. He seemed to have very good physical capabilities and solid technical game, complete with a high guard, a good straight right if I recall, and an overall solid fundamental grasp, if he was a bit wild with his footwork at times. Still, seemed a worthy opponent for Burley, even though he was largely outclassed.

I re-watched that footage somewhat recently and was more impressed than ever with Burley.

bump. I told you guys about this one a while back. Im glad you all got to see. I hope Mendoza sees this to get a taste of what Moores one punch power is like against a natural big young heavyweight.
