everyone should respect floyd's ability. there's no denying what he can do in the ring.

but he did set himself up for criticism post gatti because everyone wanted to see him back up his skills and trash-talking with 'in your face' top flight opponents.

instead, he weighed up his options and really played promoter.

let's see if i remember my time-line correctly. after floyd beats oscar, cotto and margo were the other 147 champs. it seems people are drumming on cotto or margo fight until williams beats margo. people now wants floyd to fight either williams or cotto. cotto beats shane and floyd beats hatton. people are asking for a cotto-mayweather superfight even louder especially after quintana beats williams.

yes i guess it would be hard for floyd fighting margo that time but cotto seems a credible opponent after the judah fight. it becomes more evident at the early part of 2008 when cotto had beat shane.

The fight was Marcianos last fight..It was a war but Marciano was to much for Moore...Moore had chased Marciano for a few years and was fighting alot of good competition.....Marciano was dropped in the 2nd round...When I first saw the fight I thought the fight was over by than but Rocky came to his feet quickly and that surprised me....There was a nice build up to this fight too...Archie was taking alotta shots at Rocky through the news and media. The stoppage in the 9th was a correct stoppage....

i could give floyd a pass against spinks. he doesn't bring money and his stye is not suited for good fights. besides, floyd's fight at 154 was just to satisfy oscar's demand so i don't really care about forrest also.

I think everyone has the utmost respect for his talent. No matter what you say about him, no matter whether or not you really do consider him to have padded his career (I don't), no one can so much as suggest that he isn't a true all time great. One of the best boxers of all time. Absolutely sublime skill!

The thing is though, I think most people recognise he has an absolutely, truly ugly character.
Totally without wit, even though he seems to think he's incredibly funny. Obnoxious! Arrogant (which is fine to a degree)! Boorish! Booring! Cretinous! Vain! Stupid!

He's just a really ****ing stupid, ridiculous person and I think the vast majority saw that a long time ago.

It seems to me that the people who actually like that character are complete ****ing imbeciles themselves, full of self aware posturing and pathetically trying to come across as some kind of gangsta. I can immediately think of two or three names who are complete Floyd bum-boys and act this way, I'm sure some of you also can.

this is what i remembered from the fight and i havent watched it in a long time.Moore started the fight well making Marciano miss a lot of punches he dropped Marciano in the second, it was a flash knockdown, but after that the Rock just overwhelmed him and his bodywork had clearly slowed Moore down that was clear in the eight round when Marciano hurt him and then finished him in the 9h round,Moore was floored severall times dont remember the exact number but it was at least three times.

this was The Rock last fight.

how floyd acts is irrelevant and you shouldn't worry about that at all.

floydøs character is a part of what drives him - and that's true of any fighter. ego is a healthy thing for a fighter to have because it puts you on the line, and nobody fights if they don't want to and believe they can thrive or test themselves.

he talks a lot of **** but that isn't unusual in this game.

It was a great fight but very 1 sided...Moore got cocky after he floored Rocky in the 2nd and that was his downfall...

But Floyd made it known after the Baldomir fight..**** even after the Judah fight. That ODH would be his last fight. And that he was planning on retiring. Its not like he was not putting it out there. The Hatton fight was an exhibition match that was not planned at all.

well i dont think he got cocky that was just the way he fought, but i can see why it looked that way. Marciano was just too strong for him and eventually caught up to him.Moore blocked a lot of shots with his arms and shoulders but against a puncher like Marciano a thing like that takes a big toll on a fighter specially when that fighter was 38 years of age.

even tough this fight at one point was too one sided i still like it better than the overrated Marciano-Wallcot. fight.
