Kessler is his best performance. The boxing skill he showed to UD an excellent undefeated fellow champion after running into some problems early on was mind-blowing to see. That was the best fight of 2007 in my opinion.
No I did not. You: "You've clearly never fought." Me: "You are wrong." You: "Bullshitter...playing an angle...try to sell yourself as a fighter." And ALL of this because I say Hopkins age is not a factor in breaking down that performance. What the **** is your problem? I've offered to ask any questions you have in detail, and i've already volunteered some information. You've asked no questions, and seem to be backtracking a bit yourself. I have no idea what you are all about, but you should explain, ask me about what it is that is confusing you, or shut the **** up.
But why was McGrain saying he thinks Hopkins would beat Kessler easily not an objective opinion? I'm lost. :nut
Well we will have to agree to disagree. I don't think he won the fight comfortably at all, and neither do I think he thought he had won the fight at the end. I had money on Joe at the time after switching from Bernard after round 4 or 5, and wanted Joe to win. I very much felt that fight could have been called either way at the end - I can't see how you can say it was comfortable for Joe. Anyway, agree to disagree....
you're not as lost as you think... go back to the first page of this thread, read your response to him trying to build up calzaghe on the back of hopkins, read my response to that same subject then post to me again without the childish emotes..
you're a good poster and i've enjoyed talking to you tonight. until this post and you're smart enough to know why. why did you have to cheapen yourself at the last?
I think lacy, kessler and hopkins. In the lacy fight his extreme talent became obvious to all. In kessler, he adapted remarkably to overtake a younger and stronger opponent. with hopkins he came back from some difficult early rounds, adapted well, and turned the tide with a win going away against a still top-notch fighter...
And why are you ignoring my posts AND accusing him of "cheapening" himself when he posts in agreement? When even the posters who have respected (presumably also based on the one post you've read) are trying to tell you you are barking up the wrong tree, don't you think it's time to have a look at what you are saying?
I can't understand the point you are making, yet you are acting as if it is very clear/obvious. So either I am a dimwit because I have failed to work it out, or you are a very strange creature. Hence my question. Can you just spell out in black-and-white crystal-clear what your point is, or just leave it altogether? Pages and pages of cryptic and unintelligible allegations must surely have felt as unproductive for you as they did for everyone else.
you put calzaghe on a pedestal a soon as you posted in this thread. you've never fought in earnest and i'm not going to say this again because i'm 100% right about this. i might be hard on people here sometimes but when you're talking to someone online people don't just sell their online personas and own up freely. i'm not saying your a bad person at heart - i don't think you are a bad person - but i am very good at reading people and you were trying to sell something that you were not. that's it. i know that i'm going to rub people the wrong way and i'm not trying to do it out of 'bad karma'.
you jumped on mcgrain in this thread for building up calzaghe's win against hopkins but in the same breath you're trying to emote your way out of a kessler fight..... you knew that as soon as i referenced it.
I am not a big Calzaghe fan. This is the reason Dino and I are able to hold a reasonable discussion on this subject. There is a very serious mafia on this forum, and I am not a part of it. All the regulars know that. You are wrong about my putting Calaghe "on a pedestal". I don't know what you mean by "fought in earnest". I've never claimed that I "fought in earnest". A poster doesn't have to have "fought in earnest" to buy the right to an opinion. I have no idea what this means, or how it pertains to me. Your astonishing abilities at reading people are probably wrong on rare occasions. This is one of those occasions.
so stop looking for loopholes so you can maintain that you've been a boxer in the past or you are now... damn! you're still treating it like a game. i know you don't want to lose face but, honestly, you'll get more respect by just saying it. it's more than half the guys on here would do.
