What are you talking about. You are the one that is making these allegations, you posted the thread, not Cortez. He only stated something to prove a point that had nothing to do with your thread, yet you took that and made your own allegations in a poor attempt to persuade people that he let Marquez continue on the basis of being buddies with Mexicans. You stated that, not Cortez, so yes, you will be the one questioned.
so now it's no longer about pac being vindicated? it's all about cortez now and nothing to do with pac? i'm finding your points hard to follow. for cortez, he was accused of being anti-mexican so he made an example of a decision he made that favored a mexican. if you were accused of being against black people, the knee-jerk reaction would be to name some of your friends who are black or some black people who you look up to. isnt that just normal? again, wtf does this have to do with pac being vindicated?
You may or you may not agree w/ my opinion. But as far the revelation of Cortez, it is only him who can answer your questions. Questions like why did he say that, in what context did he say that, anything he knows that we don't know at that moment, etc. I, your, or anyone here can only speculate. Now, as far as the actual fight is concerned, read my other posts, I have explained my postion on this full enough.
Then stop putting words in his mouth and saying "Well what he said could mean this..." It's bull****. You didn't even respond to the rest of my post.
Well, as I have said based on my interpretation of Cortez's statatement that he allowed Marquez to continue (without qualifying it), Pac is vindicated as the true winner of that fight. He won by TKO, not draw. Now, if you don't agree w/ opinion, that is your problem.
So, in your opinion what exactly does he mean by saying that he allowed Marquez to continue? Yes, continue with qualifying why he should continue? Don't attempt to answer this question because I will also cite you for putting words into Cortez's mouth. :smoke
but you also said that the fight should have continued right? so you're saying that based on the fight itself, the fight should have continued, but based on what cortez said, pac should have won by tko? i'm really trying hard to understand what you are trying to point out dude. seriously. havent you thought that maybe cortez just said that to pull himself off a sticky situation, i.e., being called anti-mexican? again, cortez, after the kd, made the count, as he should have, and jmm beat the count and walked towards the ref as a sign that he wanted to continue. cortez did not make any decision here. jmm made the decision for him. cortez is full of **** if he claims that jmm should thank him. cortez didnt do anything. you should try not to be affected by what he says.
I don't need an opinion, I'll take what he said. He allowed him to continue and that is it. He had a judgment call to make. Marquez had been down three times. Was he fit to continue or would he have to stop the fight? Cortez let him fight.
Ordinarily, we do that in our day to day life. But refereeing is not a normal thing to do. As a referee who is tasked to officiate fights with neutrality, I cannot cite anyone who is related to me by affinity or friends because I might be accused of bias in favor of a certain individual or group. If that is my profession, I will maintain as much as possible neutrality and objectivity during and even after the fight.
That is your opinion on the fight. I agree with you. Check my previous posts. Let's go back to Cortez's statements on that article when he said he allowed Marquez to continue, therefore he doesn't dislike Mexican boxers. He said he allowed Marquez to continue. Period. He did mention if Marquez was fit or not to continue fighting. Did he? :smoke Remember, I am now referring to that article which is post-fight already. Again, may I ask? Why did he cite something which is the right thing to do?
He allowed him because he can't force him to continue....whats your point? Anytime a fighter gets up from a knockdown he is either allowed to continue or not...
Cortez gave MANNY the fight, he is biased towards phillipinos!!! If he would have taken the point away from Manny for hitting JMM while he was down then JMM wins the fight!! IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!
I dont even see why people are mad. Even if Joe did stop the fight, it's like JMM was going to complain. He had his hands over his face in shame, it's not until he heard Cortez counting that he realized he was allowed to continue and proceeded to get up.
My opinion during the actual fight jibes with yours. Are we settled on this? But... but... in the light of Cortez's revelation that he allowed Marquez to continue without giving a reason why, I am beginning to believe that Pac should have won by a TKO. I have been asking this question and no one even bother to answer me. Why did he cite in that article a thing that in his judgment is the right thing to do as if Marquez should be grateful to it, let alone show that he did not dislike Mexican boxers?
