This discussion has turned into a disgrace by both fan-parties...

...you can talk all the smack but as long as there's no fight it's absolutely worthless.

Why not starting another round of Ketchel, Hearns, Hagler, Monzon, Hopkins vs. Pavlik and Abraham...it's about the same...

Kalle Sauerland, (coming back from the US? Or just landing?) just said on Steve Bunce's Boxing Hour that Team Abraham made a serious offer to Team Pavlik.

He said they made the offer last week to Arum, after Bob saying "they want $2 million, plus German television rights. What's Kelly supposed to do? Not fight for anything? What am I supposed to do? Do an event for nothing?", so they did their own offer. Kalle added they are ready to fight anywhere, including Cleveland, and also added that Abraham is having serious troubles making 160, so the fight is not out there forever.

Bunce said the ball is in Arum's court now and mocked a bit of Arum like "oh I'm a multi millionaire, I only have 500 million dollars I can't afford 2 million" or something like that.

Any 'hard link' yet? I don't doubt Saurland made an offer and all. I'd like to see the terms he proposed.

Hmm.... if this happens out 'inside' source will have been right. Arum may have just been very shrewd in his negotiation tactics.

quick edit. That article is an example of what is wrong with ESB's front page. An post escaping from the forums and posing as an "article".:deal

You mean Boo, our secret service agent? Yeah, he's like Dan Rafael, or Pantera2000, biased and full of **** most of the time, but you don't want to miss him leaking some quality behind the scene rumors. (don't take is too seriously Boo ;))

One thing is for sure: Pavlik-Abraham is all over the media, articles, blogs, interviews, press releases and these shitloads of forum topics, including my shits :D, I mean this fight is as much discussed as ever. It'd be good to know that all these signs Arum showing is about creating public demand and ****, while he's actually ready to put this fight on. But I'll only believe it if it's signed, until that, I might open another thread or two! :good

Kelly has said that he is not happy some folks rank AA above him at middle. Someone with the proverbial ear predicted AA in June. I think we know Kelly's thinking on this. Arum has his own plan. Would be brilliant IF he could pull it off. Duddy for the cash. Sturm for the unification. AA as a climax. That would be absolutely brilliant promoting if it happened. Tell AA to stay away from the donuts between fights.

PS: If I were Team Pavlik, this fight would happen in Atlantic City. They impose weight restrictions on championship fights. I don't remember exactly. I think a week before, you must be within 5% of the limit and may not enter the ring outside that either.

I think that would be negative for both fighters. Maybe Tom knows Abraham's fight night weights, but Kelly is definitely over the 5% limit with his average 171-2 fight night weight.

I´m not 100% sure of the outcome of this fight and I like both fighters (Abraham more :) ).

I think IF Kelly manages to keep Arthur at range for 12 rounds he will clearly on points because of being more active. In a brawl he will be killed by Abraham. Another thing will be if Pavlik has gone rid of the ghosts of having lost for the first time.

55% towards Abraham winning by KO

****, I thought you're going to say 'I tell you Bone, but I'm gonna have to kill'ya', I mean that's the secret service rule. Any **** can happen in this fight BTW. I'd rather see a unsatisfactory result of a big fight than no big fight. Losses are overrated anyway. This fight is the ****, so bring it on for ****'s sake...

I actually think the negotiations are getting quite serious now. Pavlik/Abraham desrves to be a huge event rather than just another fight for hard core fans. Turning it into a huge event requires some promotional finesse. Make Pavlik/Duddy at MSG, and put AA on the undercard against his next mandatory. Everbody would make money, and KP and AA both come away looking like monsters. I'm convinced that is the right course of action.
