The only reason to have him top3 is 'because he looked bad ass smashing Willard across the ring'. I thin hes top3 fun to watch HWs

Conn would get destroyed. He was the perfect man to tackle Louis, with that beautiful plan, but you can't control the range against Dempsey with tactics like those. Early KO. Spinks would go the same way he went against Mike.

dempsey wouldn't see the second round against foreman and liston
holmes would bust him up.frazire would enjoy nay love getting it on with dempsey.
dempsey improved a lot between his pub fight with willard and his two losses to tunney but he's still only a small cruiser-weight

Improved after Willard? What, in terms of handspeed, accuracy, footwork, timing? Are you crazy? Demspey was brilliant in that fight. I think you're thinking about Dempsey harpooning the whale that was a hurt Willard rather than the process by which Dempsey got there.

    He was brilliant that day.

You've made a serious mistake and you should look again. It's an extraordinary performance. One of the best in ring history, if we're not considering the quality of the opponent.

I like Louis. I think Dempsey over-extends a bit when he misses, I think Louis would have more success at bringing him on and really hurting him than vice-versa. I take Louis on a stoppage.

No way would Jack have come through that Firpo hurt if Louis was the man in the ring with him.

Most of the film of Dempsey is of verry poor quality and gives a misleading picture.

When you see Dempsey Willard with the timing corected for the first time (having only seen the other version previously) it is like a revalation.

Dempsey looks almost like a 190 lb version of Duran and even Willard looks better than you expect.

Dempsey looks extraordinary in that fight whatever the speed of the film. It's this weird epiphany when you suddenly realise the first 90 seconds are more impressive than the second ninety seconds, even though that's what's been causing your jaw to drop these past ten years.
