I was just watching the first Taylor-Pavlik fight and when Kelly got knocked down in the second he was only stunned when lowered his hands to show Taylor that he wasnt hurt, thats when Taylor hit him with the most flush punch of the combination. That got me thinking about others who have done this, let their opponent hit them. Two that come right to my mind are: Mosley-Wright II Mayorga-Trinidad Any other good ones im missing?
there was a lightweight or jr. lightweight fight that happened on Showtime or Versus about a year and a half ago. i cant remember exactly when and especially who it was but it was a black dude against a latino i believe he was. anyway the black dude dropped his hands and dared to take the other guys shot like what Mayorga used to do except he was put down and i think even out by the shot. if someone knows what fight im talking about please tell me. :good EDIT: H. got it right, it was Campbell vs Peden. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq9Xs8BeRuQ
Vitali fought against Peter the entire fight with his hands at his waist, but could get away with it because of his heigthatsch, either that or he's getting to old to hold his hands up for an entire round??.. Mayorga being the idiot he is dropped his hands and allowed tito to whack away:-(..
As of late Joe C had his hands down the whole fight when he publically humiliated Roy. As well as the previous mentioned Vitali against peter. I always thought that it takes a very special fighter to succesfully do it. You see a lot of wannabe's do it, and pay for it.
i watched peden knock the crap out of campbell in that fight and couldn't believe my eyes. i had officially lost all respect (from an intelligence standpoint) for nate at that point. he's gotten it back though.
