Why did Hamed punch so hard? Did he have a unique technique that made him generate so much power? Was his massive legs responible for his power?
Components of punching power: - preponderance of explosive type muscle fibres - very elastic tendons - very fast rate of muscle recruitment - very fast rate of change from eccentric to concentric muscle contraction - great timing - good punching technique: leverage, locking punches. sitting (stepping) on punches - speed Hamed seemd to have all of these except blazing speed
Cuz Allah in his infinite wisdom gave Hamed the power of 40 men to do battle against the kuffar and receive Adidas sponsorship deals.
Massive Legs, and a very thick core "The core is not just your abs, it's a whole group of muscles". Also a factor.......... A bull doser, is **** all without a strong base. Prince never really sat down on all of his punches, but when he did... It was game over..!!!
I would think just concentric on impact... no time to load it when connecting, only enough time to contract and lock the muscles. He was fast, but not blazing fast...
OK. Concentric to eccentric muscle contraction in the beginning of a punch and concentric on impact to lock the body. At the beginning of a punch you you step forward or contract your muscles .Doing this you load and store torque in your shin or back and abdominal muscles like the sinews in a ballista. For a power-puncher,Hamed was fast enough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfUFYtXNN0A&feature=related
another reason was he throw at awkward angles and caught people off balance and sometimes they didnt see the shot coming which hurts 10x worse
All about leverage in my opinion... people said his punches came from weird angles, etc, etc, etc... But this was part of where the power came on, because he would lean right out he had all that extra rotation and twist. Apart from that he was just very good full stop... he trained 6 days a week 15 rounds sparring a day from the age of 7 until about early 20's when he started getting lazy, but he was just amazing at seeing shots coming and spotting an opening. If you read books about his childhood he was sparring top pros at a young age and allowing people to try hit him whilst just moved around and pretty much no one could... he'd just slip and move out of everything. Barrera fight wasn't the prince naseem who fought so many times before that and won titles... that was an older, slower, lazier version
I don't really understand what you mean when you wrote those four. Could you please explain them or how they attribute to power? and are they genetic or you can develop them?
