It's called "pricing yourself out of meaningful fights". At one time, that used to be frowned upon, until everyone and their ****in mother on this board started acting like Managers or Agents. "Floyd deserves all the money he wants..." :|
just wanna comment on the guy earlier that stated floyd rides a girl bike w/ a dress..hes wrong floyd rides a girl bike w/ no bike seat w/ a dress lmfao!!!
I didn't suggest that the alternative to 20 mill is FREE. If you were to pay attention you'd see that I was quoting someone's remark "I wouldn't give him ****". As in, if that person were in a position to be the arbiter of finances in negotiations for such a fight, he would not elect to compensate Floyd with any dollar amount. I took this to mean that he would expect him to fight for free. Pretty sound logical progression, no? I was just drawing out the quoted party's originally absurd statement to its rational conclusion. Oh and I don't bother with "p4p ranking" lists with people's weird subjective home-brewed formulas taking both ability and resume into account; they're meaningless to conceive or talk about IMO. However, FMJ was the general consensus #1 p4p h2h fighter in the world for a couple of years, up until just over a year ago - and that consensus extended to those who, like me, refrain from silly "p4p top ten lists" and the like. He was simply, in the purest sense of the world, the obvious p4p h2h #1. He isn't active as of this moment - so fine, he isn't the p4p #1 anymore. The moment he steps back in the ring, however, until proven otherwise, he is. Who has emerged as a legitimate better p4p h2h fighter since December of 2007? Don't bother quoting me populist definitions of "p4p" as it relates to stupid subjective top ten lists or whatever based on accomplishment - I'm talking about obvious p4p h2h ability. Who is the new best fighter in the world who would supplant a returning Floyd? :think
Nobody's gonna offer him 20 million for any fight, hell will freeze over firstatsch.. Why so many threads about a retired boxer, he's RETIRED!! what's so hard to figure out about it??
Totally ridiculous. What fighter puts out a challenge that the money will get him to fight. And Shane is good, but even though he beat Margarito, he has not really improved since he beat Cotto. He had a better stylistic guy in front of him and he was pumped up, but against Floyd he will still be older. So really is paying Floyd 20 million worth it? I love Shane, but come on. 20 million?
