In this case I give a lot of credit to the weigh-drain excuse, its not like it was a drain from 140-147 or 168-175 where its only a few pounds difference. Adamek weighing at 200lbs looks a world better than he did at 175, over a stones difference of weigh.

adamek has to stay at 200 or above IMO. He would crush Dawson at 200 lbs. He nearly ko'd him in the first fight, being weight drained and all.

Weight drain affected Adamek's stamina, like you said. he could have gone for the finish harder in the 10th, and pushed for KO in the championship rounds more than he did.

Also, draining can affect reflexes, especially late in the fight.

I agree about Adamek's style though: Dawson's style is a bit of a nightmare for Adamek.

He isn't as robotic as Kessler though, and moves his head fairly well despite his (vastly improved) leakier guard.

His body punching and power could be the biggest difference in his chances--versus those of Kessler--against Chad in a rematch, though I make Dawson a favourite at any weight.

Hopkins lost to Taylor at 160, then beat up Tarver at 175. Of course Adamek is going to look better when he's facing guys who aren't as talented as Dawson. The weight drained excuse is bull****.

Campbell failed to make weight, how was he weightdrained? Sad excuse.

If you're tired of everyone using it as an excuse, them I'm sure you're up for seeing a rematch, where they can settle it prime for prime at a catchweight. :good

    Because of weight drain. :good

Reason we won't see a rematch there? Because there already was a rematch.

Taylor, like a true champion, fought Hopkins again.

Bull****.Adamek was clearly affected by the weight.
And his last 2 opponnets are at least as talented as Dawson.

  8. Truth. Adamek is a heck of a fighter. But, Dawson is flat out better. 6'3" southpaw with fast hands. Chad would have beat post prime BHOP and prime Cal convincingly.

:rofl:rofl:rofl He got a controversial win over Cunningham. Cunningham is not better than Dawson in any aspect of his game. Banks.......You wonder why I call you Eurofags.

So do you think Chad Dawson battering him to the body for the 9 rounds before that took a little steam at his late run? You do know Chad was not even hurt when he went down and got right back up and was not clinching to survive, not running.... He also beat him up in the 11th and 12th and sent Adamek back with a good body shot at the end of the 11th I think. So under your assumption, Adamek, can take it to the body all night and have no effect on his stamina late in the fight. If Adamek was not getting hit with every type of combination in the book prior to that then you can use the weight drain excuse. Adamek is not a dominating fighter. He gave up 4 rounds to Banks and 6-7 against Cunningham depending on how you scored it.

Dawson beat the brakes off of Adamek. It wasnt even close. Then Adamek wins a razor thin decision against Cunningham who without the knock downs was outboxing Adamek most of the fight. Then he beats some bum.

Get off the hype train, these are types of trains that end in catastrophic crashes.

    >sent Adamek back with a good body shot at the end of the 11th I think.

Weight drained fighters hurt double when hit at the body. Weight drained fighters also suffer from messed reflexes when their muscles don't get proper rehydration. Try draining your weight and fight the next day will you.

Adamek is a good fighter, but Dawson simply outclassed him, and he'd do something similar if they were to fight again.

I never buy into fighters using excuses afterwards. If you're not 100% right, then you don't get into the ring, you postphone the bout.

That's financial suicide. Contracts normally prevent that from happening.
