Btw, what about trying to set up Abraham vs. Mayorga...at least he would be a name opponent and brings some heat and spice into the build-up...

While all of ESB will feel the same, I kind of got to see the side the promoters play to at the Rubio fight. We're the hardcores, but the casuals are a WAY different crowd.

For instance, at one point I just listened to a guy behind me telling his friends all "matter of fact" style, that the guy a few chairs in front of them (It was Roy Jones Jr., ok) had just had a hell of a fight against some Mexican named Margarita and how he'd tried to fight with loaded gloves.:verysad

That's just one instance too. I could hear the conversations around me, and just thought to myself what a ****in' field day the bangers on ESB would have with these people.

But those are the other 349,000 people that buy the average PPV, you know? Only several thousand of us World Wide hang out and discuss the game down to the fighters shoe laces. The rest are just kind of blindly led by what HBO or promoters hype tells them is "hot".....

Abraham vs Mayorga would be all sorts of fun while it lasted.

I think Angulo vs Mayorga is more important for boxing though.

Not about "bait". It is about doing what it takes to make this fight as big an event as it should be. Pavlik will sell the gate. A fair number will know who Abraham is. Damned. Can I afford a second fight? With AA on the card along with Pavlik..... geez...... How much would the tickets have to be before it isn't worth the hour and a half drive for me? :think

    Exactly...:deal.

Two blow outs by two MONSTERS, and the general public will be barking for a HUGE fight between them. ESB may not like it, but the end result would be well worth it.

AA has been calling out the other middleweight champions for the past year. strum showed his fear by immediately balking at the idea of fighting AA. Arum has done his best to avoid AA, especially since the hopkins destruction. Pavlik is his cash-cow and he is understandably worried about AA, who has to literally chase pavlik to the US. AA - pavlik would sell big $$ in Germany, but like other US based fighters who don't have the balls to fight in Europe, Europe will now come to you....and this will be the beginning of the end of pavliks reign.

I'm glad this will happen. I agree they should have some kind of pre fight meeting to help get the fans into it. I hope They both win out till they face off, I still think Abraham has the edge.

I just want to remind you that this kinda event is all but a done deal...we still have to wait for Arum and Sauerland to agree on terms.

If you ask Atlas if the fight will happen he will say yes and it obvioulsy won't happen.
