I thought John dominated the first half of the 12th, and then Juarez didn't do that much in the second half. I think the judges were definitely swayed by the crowd. John outlanded Juarez almost 2-1. He landed some solid shots too. I just don't understand how this keeps happening. It's time to revamp how these fights are judged.
I thought it was 7-5 (for John) if I was trying to score for Rocky, 8-4 if I was trying to be unbiased. But I admit I am not anything great at scoring rounds.
And, I thought the rule was close rounds go to the champ? Personally, I think scoring all the close rounds for one guy is a cop out anyway. If it's close enough that you can't tell who won, either it's a 10-10 round or you suck at scoring.
I thought the HBO crew was hugely biased to John.. which was strange.. I mean Rocky would land like 3 thudding body shots, and John would throw a right that was blocked and call only the John shot. Terrible job tonight so far on the commentary. I'm okay with a draw, but I thought Rocky edged it with the clean and effective shots. John reacted to the shots Rocky was tossing.. not the other way around.
that's why i made a poll, posters voted that close rounds goes to hometown guy rather than the favored fighter so i scored it that way...
