i think the better term is "wear down" not demolish. demolish is to completely destroy. that's an 8-0 or 7-1, then KOing the opponent, not 4-4 and then KOing him.

EM and MAB is p4p top 20 elite from 1998-2005...JMM is p4p elite from 2003-2009. Plus JMM managed to reach top 2 and can make a case that he beat the #1 fighter

how do you score jmm mab? Do you give credit for JMM win over casa? unavenged loss to cris john. 2 loss to pac.
If he beats pac in trilogy score will be 1 and 2 realley
If he captures a 4th title in 140
i think he is.better than em and mab. Mab isnt done by the way.

i'd say he's pretty close to both in terms of career achievements. jmm is a great fighter and over the past few years, through great performance after great performance, has gotten out of the shadows cast by both fellow mexican greats of his era.

i scored it 114-113 for jmm...i did not deduct MAB for the illegal punch and score that round 10-8 for MAB...

    7-5 jmm

Imo bottomline is he needs to beat pac in a third fight w/o controversy. its a tall order but its the only way or atleast be the first mexican to be a 4 weight champion. beating pac is the sure thing though , but know? he isnt even in my atg list but he sure is getting close.

Diaz is not the ticket. Its beating Pac or Hatton or Cotto.

He doesn't need it. He already fought pacman to a draw and lost their next fight on a split decision. He has already proven he can hang with Pac. Would it be nice? Of course but their are other fish to fry out there.

BTW with respect to the thread no he has not passed Barrera yet and certainly not Morales. He is on the radar now though.

Yeah, Barrera is still the greater fighter but Marquez made a mistake when Barrera was hurt and paid for it. That was close to being a 10-8 round for Marquez even without a KD. I know it happened and that was Marquez' fault but he still won 7 or 8 rounds of that fight if you score it properly.

Both in their prime at 126 or 130 it is a tossup fight.

i'd say he's on the same echelon, but not necessary ahead or behind, get me?

but at the rate he's going, by the time he retires, i think he'll move beyond the MAB-Morales echelon into a better one
